Where are you registered(ing)?

Original post by WeddingGem

Hey there. As some of you know, I am currently overseas. I´ve been here for a few years now so I feel out of touch with the current things in NY.

I want to register somewhere that is nice but not too expensive so that I can get most of what I want. (my wedding is only going to be about 50 - 80 people).

My mom suggested Bed, Bath and beyond.

Any other suggestions? Any experience you might have had with them would be great. I am told some places throw in little gifts or give you a discount on the things that you registered for that noone bought. Things like that would be helpful.

Thanks,

I heard that Macy´s gives you a gift card worth 10% of everything that your guests bought as a gift for your wedding? Has anyone heard of/experienced this? Does BBB do something similar?

Im registered at BBB and Macys'

Macys also gives you a gift card worth 5% of everything you buy at the store generally from the time you register through your wedding date (i.e. if you buy your dress there, day of jewelry , or honeymoon clothes etc, anything at all) . ALthough I am not sure --I think maybe its 10% for what you buy and 5% for what your guests buy.

BBB does not have that reward but they do give you cash back and they really do have everything at that the sore form fina china to apple peelers. Also they always have the 20% off coupons that your guests can use.

I have noticed that with Macy's you can also use coupons usually 15-20% but their prices when their stuff is not on sale is higher than the same stuff at BBB at its everyday price. Macys has great deals with sale stuff but the stuff goes on and off sale so often that your guests could end up overpaying for stuff. Its good for you though if you want to complete your registry bc you can keep track of when the stuff you want is on sale.

Both stores give you a completion discount-- i think Macy's is 10% (sometimes they have promotions where you can get more) and BBB is 10% also.. with both stores though again you can use their regular store coupons which offer you more than 10% anyway so you would be better off using those.

Macys & BBB

The other posts have explained how great both places are but one more thing about BBB is that they provide free boxed/gift wrapping to your guests when they purchase off of your registry.
