Where Are you SAFELY keeping your $ during the reception????
???-I want to know that no one can just pick up with the thing I'm putting it in and walk out-I don't want to worry about it all night!!! What are you guys doing?

I'm leaving my parents in charge of that. FH and I will be leaving for the HM the next morning so we won't even open our envelopes until we're back.

The last I checked there was some sort of safe in the bridal suite for envelopes (gifts). This all can change, however, my hall is doing renovations.

we're putting a bird cage on the guest book table where people can leave their cards so that they don't have to carry them around and we don't have to worry about them

i've actually heard of people walking out with birdcages and cake holders... was very surprised to hear that people weren't stopped..
im getting a money bag, and i leave it with somone i trust..

My FMIL told me about a bride that got married at russos ( god only knows how many years ago) and in the elevator on the way out at the end of the night - the husband and wife were robbed at gunpoint!! all their envelopes!!! They thought it was one of the guests friends that knew about the big huge expensive wedding and figured they came from a big wealthy family and they'd get alot of $$$$
*eta besides the envelops he also got some of the tip money - limo drivers I guess.. and also the wedding bands and ering!

we had a money box- it was great. some people put in the box- some of course handed to us.

Forgot to actually answer the question... I will have a moneybag and actually go around the room to personally thank people.. FH will collect the envelopes as I give out the favors... after that ( since the wedding is almost over) The best man can handle it from there

Some halls require you to designate a person because they do not want to be held responsible. I have yet to think about it, but would have to say it would have to be with someone who does not plan on getting tipsy...

At my sis's wedding we gave it to my FH- he wasn't in the BP. I guess a guy in the BP.

My catering hall has a safe in the bridal suite. the tips will be held by our best man , who is the grooms brother.

I never thought about this before now! Thank you for posting about it! I might ask my parents or one of my BM--my one friend in particular is ridiculously responsible and organized and on the ball---so maybe i'll have her hold on to that stuff so we don't have to worry about it.
