Where are your BM's getting dressed the morning of
My FI and I had dinner at my parents last night to discuss some details and I got into an argument with my mother over this: She's telling that its better if all my girls (5) get dressed, have their hair and makeup done at their own homes then come to my parents house. and I'm telling her no, I want everyone together so I know no one will be late and to celebrate the morning before I walk down the aisle. she repeated herself again adding the fact that the house is to small for everyone including my hair and makeup ladies. so i said 'I'm sorry, I thought this is MY wedding, if you don't want all this at your house, we'll get dressed at my house, simple as that'. My dad finally had to separate us and change the subject. My FI just kept quiet.
Am I wrong?

I am having this same issue- just without the grief from mom. I definitely want the whole BP with me getting dressed, but I just don't think I'll have the room...
I am thinking about the pros and cons of a hotel...but even then, there is still only ONE bathroom! how does everyone do it!!!

I think I want them all to get ready at my house. I'll have Oksana there doing makeup and maybe someone doing hair. I think it will be fun for all of us to get ready. I am thinking about asking my sister and bf to stay over the night before and having the rest of the bp come over in the morning.

That might be a good idea, but you have to consider the confusion that will go on when there are so many girls trying to get ready at the same time.

We are getting married at night and we are not using limos - ceremony and reception in the same place. We are all getting ready in the bridal room. My hair/make up person is also an invited guest so I guess she will be getting ready there too!

Well I have some that are going to be here to get hair and makeup done ..othes are getting it done on their own. But everyone is coming here and getting dressed and take some pics

My ceremony isnt till 4 so I think Ill tell thegirls they can do there own thing in the AM and then if they are comming with me to get their hair donebe here by X time otherwise 1pm for makeup and pictures

Because my wedding location is 45 minutes from my house and the homes of my bridesmaids we are staying over at a hotel the night before. I booked two rooms and requested a door between them. The only bm that won't be staying will be my sister because she just had a baby and will be staying at my apartment so she has ample room. We are probably going to have our hair done in the hotel and then go to the bridal suite to get fully ready for pictures.

Jenn, I know just how you feel. This will be my 2nd wedding & the first time around I wanted everyone at my parents house getting ready & having breakfast & doing their make-up & my dad was adament about that not happening. Although we had the room he was like too much is going to be going on & its going to be chaotic, etc.
Instead I had the girls come over about 30 minutes before the photographer got there & we all had a drink and some cookies & it was fine.
This time around, my MOH and I will be getting ready at my parents' house which is all the way out on LI and the rest of my girls who are sisters will be getting ready at their mom's house (which is 10 minutes from the church)--it just seemed silly to have them come all the way out to drive back.
If it means a lot to you, I'd talk to your mom & see her reasoning behind it; perhaps you can come up with a compromise.

my house is very small. i'll probably have the girls get dresses on their own and come to the house for hair/makeup/pictures. then we'll leave for the church.
or i might rent a hotel room and have them come to the hotel room the morning of to do hair/makeup. not sure yet.

Some of us are getting ready at the hotel (that is where my make up and hair ladies are coming). Others who live in the area are just getting ready at their parents' homes.
We are all meeting at the Carlyle at 10am SHARP!!!

My mom's house! My girls are from all over so they are all coming that fri night for the RD and sleeping over my mom's with me that night. Then we're all going to the salon in the morning and getting ready together. My ceremony isn't till 7:30pm. Should be a fun, but long, day!!

thanks for all your insight on this ladies.
I still have time to decide what to do. i would love to get ready at the hotel where there will be room, but I've always wanted to walk out of my parents house and have the neighborhood's eyes on me.
my one BM lives in the same town as my parents and one other only lives in the next town over, so I can see if they wouldn't mind getting dressed at her house then coming over. however, they are having their hair and makeup done at my house so wouldn't it be silly for them to get dressed before the hair and makeup
oh man i'm so confused.
now i'm thinking about the next day. how is everyone gonna get back to my parents to get there cars. guess we'll have to scam around for rides.
