I'm trying to decide between Holiday Inn Hauppauge and the wyndham. I like the windham so much more but I'm worried I wont fill their minimum required rooms and then I will have to pay the remainder of the cost.
And its only a 10 dollar difference in price.

Re: Where are your guests staying?
We'll be staying at the Wyndham - along with our guests...it's super convenient to where we're getting married.
I haven't looked into pricing or what they require - I vaguely remember a price of $139 and a 10 room block (don't know if that's a minimum).
How many rooms do you feel you'll fall short (of the requirement)?

Re: Where are your guests staying?
I am getting married at the Watermill. they work closely with the Sheraton in Smithtown. they have nice rooms- they gave me a good price of $109 for guests. $295 for my bridal suite with free bottle of champagne- as rooms are booked suite prcie gets lowered. Thay also have a piano lounge for after the wedding and a restaurant since we are having a breakfast the next day. its about 10 min from the Watermill. TOm from the Watermill suggested I call them.. They are so nice!!!

Re: Where are your guests staying?
My guests stayed at the Wyndham. They required a 10 room block, which is easier to fil than you think (if your bridal party, family members choose to stay).
I've never been to the Holiday Inn but the Wyndham is actually VERY nice. The rooms are small but the beds have pillowtops, the rooms are clean and have decent furniture. There's also a nice bar/lounge area downstairs for your guests to congregate. They have indoor/outdoor pools and more amenitites than most hotels do.
Call JoAnn, the sales manager - she is fabulous. She is on top of everything and goes above and beyond the call of duty.

We are staying at the Wyndham and so will all our OOT guests. We looked at both and felt that the Wyndham was more upscale. I am sure both will be great. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Where are your guests staying?
I made more calls today.
The Marriott in Islandia is giving me 109 as well as the Radisson. I didnt call the Sheraton but I think it will also be 109 from what one of you said.
Now I have to see which I like better.
