I have three wedding gowns that I want to give away to someone who is less fortunate and can't afford a wedding gown. Does anyone know of any places that do this or accept this?
I have the first wedding gown that I bought but decided against it.......brand new in the bag still. Also, I have two others that are samples. Ther are both my friends.....she was a THREE dress bride!!!
We don't want to make any money off them at all.....just want to be sure they will go to someone who can use them.......
Any ideas?
Doesn't matter where either.....I am willing to ship them if needed.......

Im not sure I have never heard of this being done but I just wanted to say that is so generous of you guys and its such a nice thing you are doing.
If you dont mind me asking what dresses are they?

Awwww, thanks We just know from our wedding planning how much it has or is costing. So if we can help someone else out, hey, that's great!!!
One of the dresses is from Victoria Bridal, the other one looks just like a Justin Alexander gown with pickups but it's not Justin Alexander and the third one was a bridsmaid dress but I bought it for a simple wedding gown..........

Salvation army or Goodwill. Also some churches sometimes take donations. I would also check out about finding out who may just give to the needy not sell. Maybe St Vincents of Depaul? You know my church also gives to the needy alot. You may want to contact them through the website. www.newcovenant.org. I hope I was a help.

There is an organization called Brides Against Breast Cancer. They have sales in major cities where they sell donated dresses from brides and bridal salons. It is not for profit and all the $ goes to breast cancer charities.
I know that they sell them at a discount to help brides out. I was going to volunteer at their last sale in NYC, but could not get off from work.
I think i have a an article that i clipped out of a bridal magazine at home about a place in the city that does this. Ill check later when i go home

Hi I have been helping to organize a Prom Boutique for the last 8 years. We take any donations of dressy dresses and accesories. We also take bridal gowns for the girls sisters, aunts, etc. that are getting married. It is held at Nassau Community College. There will be drop off places and locations. 5 Collection sites in Nassau County--Sunday, April 15, 12-4 pm (public drops off donations from 1-3 pm). I am not sure of the drop off locations yet but will post and FM you as soon as I know.

you might try your local church, they might know someoone in the community it would help
They sell gowns really cheap and all the proceeds go towards helping and feeding the needy on long island.
Its a great thing you're doing!!!

That has to be the most kindest gesture ever, to offer the gowns for nothing. Good things happen to good people, and in time you will be repaid. It may not be monetary, but the man upstairs knows. What a great thing to do. I applaud you. Just knowing your going to make someone sooooooooooo happy is priceless
