I have three wedding gowns that I want to give away to someone who is less fortunate and can't afford a wedding gown. Does anyone know of any places that do this or accept this?
I have the first wedding gown that I bought but decided against it.......brand new in the bag still. Also, I have two others that are samples. Ther are both my friends.....she was a THREE dress bride!!!
We don't want to make any money off them at all.....just want to be sure they will go to someone who can use them.......
Any ideas?
Doesn't matter where either.....I am willing to ship them if needed.......

Re: Where can I GIVE away three wedding gowns??
I was thinking about doing this with my gown-- people think I'm crazy!
LOL it would have been nice to get all of the responses you got above from family and friends but in reality-- people were like 'what is wrong with you??' lol I guess b/c it's MY wedding gown-- but after I use it- what am I going to do with it?? Save it for my daughter? Nah- I KNOW that she is going to want her own dress and styles change so much...
So I was just going to bring it to 'Good Will'... They have a drop off center in Huntington right next to Baja Grill.
They also have a St. Vincent de Paul charity drop off center in Huntington (past Good Will on the right hand side)... on Jericho.
HTH!!! Good luck-- You are doing such a nice thing. Now, women who normally cannot afford a nice, new dress will be able to!

Kristy, I'm broke...does that count? No, just kidding. Goodwill will take them, sell them and the profits go to Goodwill. Or take them to a church (or call) I am sure they can help. Here in FL, we give our prom dresses to teens who can't afford them. (tearing up )

There is an organization called Brides Against Breast Cancer. They have sales in major cities where they sell donated dresses from brides and bridal salons. It is not for profit and all the $ goes to breast cancer charities.
I know that they sell them at a discount to help brides out. I was going to volunteer at their last sale in NYC, but could not get off from work.
edited to say that it is very nice of you!! i am sure someone will need it, appreciate it and become a beautiful bride all b/c of your kindness!

Wow what a very generous thing you are doing...I am so glad you asked this question. I am thankful for the replies,I will definitely put it in my notebook and think we should all think about donating.. I myself have about 4 BM dresses that I will never wear again. It would make me so happy to donate for Breast Cancer or make a young girls prom dress...
