where can i sell my gold?

I have a lot of gold jewelry that I want to sell. Does anyone know of a good place that would give me a fair price for my things?

ETA: well a BIG THANK YOU to Megan aka Cherish83. I just went and took my SCRAPS of old jewelry and got $854.00 for it. Megan's aunt was the best. She is so nice and I tried to give her a little something and she refused to take it.I am so grateful for Megan and her aunt. They are the best.

My aunt works in the diamond district. If I tell her I know you she wont take any comission. You'll get what you deserve. I gave her some of my gold and got 700 for it. Let me know if you want the info

I went to a party lastnight at someones houses.. they were having uppercase solutions and a gold dude.. i gave the guy some OLD broken gold things from when I was like 10 lol. I got $1000. My sister got over 2k. They just tested the gold, weighed it and gave us cash- so cool

If it's scrap gold, I'd try the diamond district. Just keep in mind that unless it's heavy, you really won't be getting all that much. I sold a few expensive pieces and got next to nothing for them. If the pieces are wearable, ebay is probably your best bet. I've sold a bunch of nice (tiffany, fortunoff) jewelry on ebay and got way more than I would have from the people in the dd. My mil also raves about tri-country, so if you're on LI I would go there first.

You can try Tri-County flea market in Levittown. The whole upper section is jewelry and they buy and sell. I'm pretty sure they'll give you an offer right there too.

i did the same thing. I had a party at my house and just for having the party, I made $400...w/o selling gold
