I abhor the place and hate to recommend it, but David's Bridal advertises very affordable dresses.

If you're a sample size you can visit any dress store and see what they have on sale. I've been to a few stores that had racks of dresses for 50-75%.
p.s. just remember you're not being ordered a brand new dress

I don't know how close to Lynbrook you are but Beautiful Bride on Merrick Road sells their samples for great prices...

I, too, hate to admit.. but David's Bridal does have really good prices. I HATED their service!

Try the Wedding Center in Commack. They've got less expensive dresses too. I almost bought mine there, but I found 'the one' somewhere else. PS: Wedding Center will quote over the phone if you see your dress in a magazine.. just call with the name of the mag and pg #.

You can also try RK Bridal in the city if you know the dress you want. They can get you a nice discount too if you order over the phone or via fax.

ETA: I got mine at David's. I paid $549. I almost bought one there for $200-something. Don't remember the exact price, but I almost bought it until I tried on the one I wound up buying. Good prices there...

Lilettes is priced reasonably it's on Merrick Rd. in Baldwin.
Also, try this place called Bridal Garden in NYC. All the dresses there that they sell are designer dresses that were already worn (they are cleaned of course) You can find stuff heavily discounted there.

Estelle's on Rt.110, I got my wedding gown there a Mon Cheri , there for 700.00! They have all sizes. There is a nice section in the back that is just for brides, etc, so it is not a mad house, also The Bridal Garden in Bethpage and The Wedding Plaza in Baldwin on Merrick Road.

RK Bridal have really good sales sometime! They sell discontinued dresses for around $500-600 or better!

I was there in April or May of last year. One girl was trying on a very elegant ballroom gown and I complimented her on it. She said: 'You know what the best part is? It costs $300!'

The dress was beautiful and in great condition! What a great bargan!

May be you can call RK Bridal and ask when they are having a sale or just drop by! ( you don't need an appointment) Good luck!

I got my dress at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue for $600 with a matching stole. They have a huge selection in all price ranges. I also found that Helen's in Commack has inexpensive dresses. Good Luck!

There are sample sales in NYC a lot. Also - don't know if there is one on Long Island, but Jessica McClintock in Short Hills Mall. There aren't a ton, but you can preview what there is online on theknot. Also - still pricey but bridalpower.com.

davids bridal!!! I bought mine there..it was my favorite dress before I knew the price..its a beautiful dress and I got it CHEAP!!!!!!! Really cheap!!!

P.S. I heard bad things about davids in Long Island..im in jersey and I had a GREAT experience..they were very helpful, patient and like i said..I fell in love with my dress. Good luck!!!

Go to RK Bridal (39th street bewteen 8-9 Ave) and ask for Aisha, she is SOOOO NICE and fun to work with!!! Good luck!!

for really inexpensive RK or Davids is your best bet....otherwise there are tons of affordable dress shops around LI...I loved mine Bridal Suite of BaySHore

I got my dress at the Wedding Plaza in Baldwin. Most dresses were under $800 and they were the same dresses I same elsewhere for $200-$300 more.
