I have about a 2 hr lag before I can get on the grounds of the Rivera to take pics. Can anyone recommend a nice location in that area to go take pictures? I had suggested Jones beach but on a Saturday in June I dont know how that would go...

We are going to use Westbury Gardens. They have indoor and outdoor facilities. They charge a fee, but I think it's worth it.

Vanderbuilt Planetarium Grounds
- I think you need to schedule photos at all of the above places - your photographer should have some suggestions as well.
Also down in Massapequa there is a string of pretty parks along Merrick Road and Sunrise Hwy

Why don't you ask your photog to give some locations . If he has been around he would be your best bet because he know your time frame and what you expect of him and the finale product.
