Re: Where did/are you registered and why?
Crate & Barrel, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Fortunoffs.Crate & Barrel - I love there stuff
Bed Bath & Beyond - wanted to make sure that I hit all the price points, so there was something everyone could buy.
Fortunoffs - my father's wife wanted me to pick linens from there. To tell you the truth that is all that I registered for there - towels and sheets.

Re: Where did/are you registered and why?
I haven't registered yet.
I know, I am such a bad bride to be. I am giving myself the summer. Come September the madness will begin. I plan on registering at Bloomingdales, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Fortunoff's. I figure I will give everyone a wide selection to choose from.

Re: Where did/are you registered and why?
Bloomingdales - large selection, user friendly website, great service, convenient locationsCrate & Barrel - fun, everyday products, user friendly website, great prices, good service
(I would not register with Macy's - I have had horrible experiences purchasing off of other people's registries there and have heard many stories of unhappy friends of mine that wish they didn't register there.)

Re: Where did/are you registered and why?
Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond.Macy's was because I knew that people would expect a department store registry and I felt that Macy's was a fairly familiar place for people nationally. I also registered via WeddingChannel.com, so it was one of the options. I also liked their selection better. I was able to do it both online or in-store, which is always helpful. We actually registered for a lot of things online and then went in-store for more options.
Bed Bath and Beyond was to have another nationally recognizable place to register for a different feel, i.e., a little more laid back for those people who don't want to shop a department store. In both of our registries, the price range is wide so that no one feels that they should have to spend a lot of money.
I looked at Fortunoff's, Bloomies, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and Crate and Barrel, and found that I just liked the variety better at Macy's and BB&B.
If you go to weddingchannel.com, they have a lot of places to choose from and will combine your registries for your guests, so all you have to do is direct them to the site if they want to order online, and the options will be available to them.
Have fun!

Re: Where did/are you registered and why oh and when are you supposed to register?
Macy's and TargetTarget because it is relatively inexpensive and convenient for most people.
Macys because they had our china pattern and they give you coupons for after the wedding. The woman said we can use the 10% off coupon that we got AND apply for a Macy's card during the sale weekends so we would end up getting 40% off.

Re: Where did/are you registered and why oh and when are you supposed to register?
We have so far registered at Macy's...went to Roosevelt Field for the greatest selection. FI had fun scanning and even picked out our everyday dishes, stemware, and flatware (I wanted him to be happy with the choices). We are also going to register at Target to give people a wide range of pricing options...MAYBE do Williams-Sonoma since I love their kitchen gadgets and I hear their sheets are awesome. Also, don't be afraid to register for some wild and crazy stuff (FI scanned the Fire and Ice grill) and I want the Swarvoski toasting flutes!! People buy it apparently...also IF you go to Roosevelt Field....try and do your registry with Jessica....she's young, hip, fun to talk to, and is so honest about everything!!!

Re: Where did/are you registered and why oh and when are you supposed to register?
Fortunoff for china, stemware, flatware. Great customer service and selection, but I had some guest purchase gifts in May and I didn't receive them (sent to my apt.) until July.PotteryBarn - had great stuff, but a little expensive and I was ALWAYS getting emails saying something was discontinued or back-orderd. Would NOT register there again.
I'd do a department store like Macy's, Bloomindales, or Fortunoff (even B,B&B) for stuff like china and stemware that you may not get a complete set of so you know it won't be discontinued.

Oh, I forgot to put that Bloomingdales and C&B both give you 10% off after your wedding date on the rest of your registry.

Re: Where did/are you registered and why oh and when are you supposed to register?
We registerd at Fortunoffs only- but we have lived in our own home for three years now so we have mostly everything we need. Fortunoffs gives you 10 percent on any purchases you make to complete your registry after the wedding. It was a lot of fun! We registered last week for Feb. 04 wedding.
