fortunoff and bed, bath, and beyond...to have a variety of things. plus, both places can be accessed online, and most people live near one.

Re: where did u register?
DON'T GO TO MACY'S!!!!!!
I have heard many bad stories about the registry at Macy's, and I have a few of my own. I am still debating getting rid of our Macy's registry and going somewhere else. With only a few exceptios you can get mostly everything else in other stores. Anything exclusive to Macy's either buy yourself or tell someone in particualr that this is what you want.
I recommend Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens & Things, Fortunoff's or Target. Even K-Mart has a registry program, if you can find any stores, or JCPenney and Sears.
JUST STAY AWAY FROM MACY'S!!

Fortunoffs, Macy's, and Sears (for hubby's tools)
Can you talk to my fiance? The guys should be getting gifts too! I'm going to start a petition to send to Best Buy and Home Depot.
How cool would it be for my fiance to open up a gift and have it be a Ryobi Compound Mitre Saw!

Re: where did u register?
please please please be careful where you register...many (like TARGET) will NOT give you cash back...I don't think Macy's does either
I know that BBB and Fortunoff (mine) do...and believe me you will be returning things!!! you may not think so...but more likely than not you willl!!!
and everyone gets the BBB coupon!!! so thats more gifts for you!!!

Macy's in New York John Lewis in London
The good thing about Macy's is there's ALWAYS a sale...
I've heard terrible things about Target. Someone (I think on The Knot) had a really terrible, humiliating experience there RE: problems with returns because items were not taken off the registry after they were purchased.

Re: where did u register?
I registered at Macy's and Fortunoffs- but mostly at Macy's. I love Macy's! My FH was afraid it was going to be a zoo (since we live in the city and go to Herald Square), but the China floor is great- with the most amazing Customer service. We returned some E-gifts that were not bought off our registry - we didn't even know where they were bought, but Macy's took back everything that any Macy's store carries. Such service!!

Macy's and BBB. I figured these places always run coupons and sales.

My FSIL had a lot of problems just as you said, which is why I opted not to register there.

Re: where did u register?
This is in reference to the Do not register at Macy's post: I would not even want cash back if I had to return something! I always shop at Macy's and store credit or exchange works great for me I have gotten a lot of gifts from my registry at Macy's and have not had one problem. This is just my experience! I think there can be problems everywhere. My cousin registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and they didn't take things off her registry and she got so many doubles (her shower was 2 weeks ago) and I have heard problems at alot of others too. JMO and experience

Ive heard bad things about Macy's. Like the prices online are a big difference like Half price! YES about the Target thing. My neighbor registered at Target. she got 3 ironing boards. She took 2 back and they told her without a reciept nothing caould be done. She said but I registered and you didnt take it off like u were supposed to Look (showed her registry). They said theres nothing we can do until 90 days after the wedding????? WHAT! she had Ch. 4 ASA AARONS at her house and everything. So in other words my E-party was like a year and half before my wedding and all the presents I got for that cant be returned until 3 months after my wedding!!! What a Joke. And then you will tell me that I can only get 1.00 cause it was discontinued or is on clearance. But all in all I still registered at Target HEHE

Re: where did u register?
We were going to limit it to 1 place, but BBB has alot of things that I wanted that no one else has. So we ended up registering at BBB and Macy's.

Re: where did u register?
I wanted to do everything online, but then my mom reminded me that older people, especially, like to go into department stores and see what they are buying for themselves. Macy's (online - weddingchannel & in store) Pottery Barn (online - weddingchannel) thinking about adding another - but i really don't like BBB, reminds me an overrated dollar store the way it is set up. Maybe Crate & Barrel or Pier One
