I know it's been said before, but where did you buy your dress and why? I need to find a reputable place to buy a dress and have alterations done and need opinions...thanks.

I bought my dress from Colorado because it was cheaper than Long Island but had it altered at b urtons

Bought my dress from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place because the girl was so helpful and patient. I had an amazing experience there for my dress BM dresses and FG dresses.

the women there do not make commission, so I never felt pressured to buy. I was never pressured to leave, even though the salon was closed.
i went there twice and then again for BM dresses...plus they gave me a discount just by asking!

i got my dress and bm dresses from village bridal- great service and selection.... also get a coupon for a free hair trial at their salon which is nice

the white gown in brooklyn, because they were the only store around that carried Enzoani and my dress specifically.

Lillette's in Bellmore.
I went to them for many reasons.
They used to be in Baldwin, where I grew up.
My sister in law got her dress through them and had a great experience start to finish with them.
They were great to work with and patient.
My bridesmaids also got their dresses there too.

I found a bm dress in a magazine that I LOVED so I called around to a bunch of different stores to find someone who had a sample my bm could try on and Lillette's was the first one to have it. While I was there I fell in love with my wedding gown and put a deposit on that too. I ended up falling out of love with said gown but since the deposit was non refundable I found a new gown that I LOVEEEE and ordered it. So far I don't have any complaints about them

I bought my dress at Paradise because I had heard great things and they had a lot of the designers I was looking at.
With your wedding about 5 months away, I would be inclined to go to a shop that has a lot of dresses in stock and ready to go because it may be hard to get a dress ordered and made in 5 months. Or a shop that can have a dress rush made no problem.

davids bridal, i didn't want to spend a ton of money on the dress and i fell in love with it when i first tried it on. the sales people are uber helpful

I went there bc they were the only place that carried the particular designer I was searching for. They didn't have it in stock at the time but I went there anyway since my mom was in town. First time they were soo nice and upon going back the second time they were even better. I dealt with Pat and she's just awesome. She made me feel comfortable. Never pushed anything on me and really helped in not allowing others that were with me make the decision for me.
They may be a little more expensive but I think it was well worth it.

Helen's Bridal they were the only place that had my dress, I had a wonderful experience there, Ashley is the best!

Bridal World, it's a no frills kind of place but it has great prices. I got a Justin Alexander sample for $450! They're alterations lady seems pretty good too!

Lillettes here too it was the 4th store and I went to, and just wanted to confirm that something i had tried on at bridal reflections in massapequa was 'the one.' everyone there was super-nice and helpful, they had a great selection and the very last dress I put on turned out to be THE ONE! got my bm dresses there too for 10% off, and got my veil there (no discount).
