Where did you buy your furniture?

I'm so confused with style, quality, price, delivery times, etc.

we bought all of our furniture at The Place on 110 in farmingdale

We got our bed at Bobs Discount Furniture on Rt 110 great prices great quality.

We got our mattress at Sleepy's on sale, again great price and we love it.

we got our couch and our chair at Jennifer's Convertibles on Rt 110. I highly recomend checking out their clearance center that is attached next door. We got an AMAZING deal on our leather furniture through there. FM me for prices. again..AMAZING price.

We got our desk, kitchen table/chair set, entertainment center, and bookshelves at Walmart and Target and I don't think you can tell.
Almost everyone who has seen our kitchen set compliments it and asks where we got it. They all think we splurged on it lol.

Our dresser and coffee table is from Ikea. Again, check their AS IS section... a lot of the stuff is perfectly fine but may have been a floor model or something.

I got my vanity mirror at Michaels (craft store) and this is probably everyon'e favorite piece in our apartment. it's amazing. My vanity is an antique that we found in the basement of our building lol

oh... and...
if you have the time... take a day and just drive up and down Rt 110 in Farmingdale. It's furniture central over there, they have a ton of stores with a ton of different looks.

Little trick to buying furniture though...ALWAYS buy it on a holiday weekend. They have tremendous sales, so you can either buy something a little nicer than what you planned on or keep extra cash in your pocket. When you're talking about stuff that costs that much money, it is really worth while waiting for a sale. Rock the old stuff until Presidents Day!

I have heard good things about Bob's!! I want this brown sectional he has sooo badly!

Ikea is kind of a let down. It's just that their stuff is so cool looking, but as most of us know, the quality just isn't there which bums me out so much. They have great customer service and such great style, it breaks my heart - but we get what we pay for. I bought their MALM dressers and night stands. I'd love to get their bed, but based on how in one year the dressers are breaking, I doubt that bed would hold us chubbies. Our kitchen table (which is so cute) is from there and our like $13 cr*ppy chairs too.

Rockaway Bedding is great too- though I think they just went out of biz. We had a crappy cheap mattress from them for an entire year and complained of the quality and they let us swap it (ONE YEAR LATER!) charging us the difference and we got a brand new thicker mattress. So awesome!

I've seen some good deals on Craigslist, sometimes people ditch brand new furniture- moving, etc. on there!

We're buying our starter set mostly from Ikea. I agree that the chairs and dining room table might not be great quality (my whole apartment was furnished from IKEA during grad school), but I had the MALM dresser and really liked it. My couch was from there too.....not the most comfortable, but served its purpose.

I always buy my furniture from Levitz! We bought out last couch in 2006 and have had no intrest or payments until the end of 2008. It has helped so much because if we couldnt make a payment , there was nothing to worry about!

Bob's was awesome. We went down to Rt 110 to check out all the furniture places and saw there was a Bob's there. They just opened there like a few months ago. We bought sooooooo much stuff for the bedroom and living room and it came up really good. They don't bs their prices like the other places do. And they kave a kitchen with fresh cookies, yummmmmmmm.

The Malm is so cool - I love it, it just seems flimsy after a year. Then again, I put it together - so maybe that's why. Ha ha! Trust me, I love IKEA. I've found that if you get the higher priced items, they last much longer. It reminds me of the Gap. Like you have your Old Navy prices, Gap prices and Banana prices. Ha ha!

we have bought furniture at levitz twice now and overall have been really happy with the quality- the first time it was a couch & it was damaged and they took it back right away & we had a new one a day later and then we got fh's bedroom set from there last year. nice quality and it held up good and it was a good price. if you are a AAA member you get a 15% discount there too.

Ethan Allan---I know it is expensive--but lets put it this way---I have pieces from my Grandmother's set from when she was a little girl and they are in perfect condition and beautiful---so I really only buy from there

Couch and loveseat at Levitz. Coffee table, end tables and bookshelves and desk at Crate and Barrel (I used to work there so I got a nice discount otherwise I couldn't have afforded it). Kitchen table I bought about 6 years ago at a furniture wearhouse I don't even remember where. Bedroom set is my great-grandmothers.

Levitz is really good from what I hear. My mom had problems with Hufman Koos years back, but I think they may be out of biz.

We bought our couch and coffee/end tables at The Place on rt 110. We bought it on labor day weekend and got 4 years interest free.
I also got our dinning room table (glass top with wood base) at National Liquidators. I got the table, 6 chairs, and a bakers rack/wine rack for $1200. I figured for that price it wouldn't be real wood (was expecting it to be pressed wood) and it wasn't.

ANd we got our kitchen table at a thrift shop, but it was actually a brand new one that is hand made. its awesome! My bed is from gothic cabinate and craft and is great as well! I love all my furniture! hahaha.

we bought my couches from bloomingdales furniture gallery in roosevelt field. i got a good deal - i think i got the sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman for under $3k (can't really remember). only bad thing was they took FOREVER to come in.

got my tv stand at fortunoff - they have some great stuff at pretty reasonable prices.

We got a great deal on a bedroom set at Levitz. It came with a free Sealy Posturepedic (spelling, sorry) mattress. They were having a huge sale! It's great. We paid around $1500, including tax and delivery.

We got out LR set at Bob's. Great prices! Luv my LR set so much! I think we paid around $1400 for our BR.
