For all you chinese girls out there, where did you guys get your qipao/cheongsam? I want something more modern, and haven't gone to any stores yet but the ones I see online just look so old-fashioned to me.
I found this one website that has a qipao that I LOVE...matches my wedding colors too, one of which are lavender. BUT, it is pretty expensive for a qipao (IMO... again I haven't shopped around yet, but I would have expected <$500), and it's not the traditional red dress.

Suggestions on places? Thoughts on Jane?
Thanks!!

I'm renting mine, the one in the avatar <=== When I was shopping I came across this site http://www.efushop.com/ They are pretty cheap but not sure about the quality since I did not order from them. You can also try ebay, they are so cheap!

Thanks! Where did you rent yours? What can I expect to pay for a good quality dress between buying and renting, if I may ask?

Actually, my rental was included with my package so I can't tell you how much it was for just the dress rental. I went with an asian wedding consultant that included everything.

There is a chinese tailor on Mott Street in the city that was selling some qipao's for $20. The quality was pretty good. They had many colors, just getting rid of stock.
