Still haven't done that! I think it's one of the most important things! I think if you stick it under home owners/ renters it's only covered if it gets stolen from your house (in witch case you have to file a police report).
lost or stolen - my ring is appraised mike gave me the appraisal the week after he got my ring - he had it done for me it needs to get done by a gemoligest (sp) he had the guy that made my ring get it done but i didnt get it insc. yet i am going to wait and put it on our homeowners insc

under our homeowner's insurance and it is covered no matter what
Its not much - you can add it into your monthly payments - depends on what your ring appraised - example if your ring was about 13,000 its about 275 - if you already paid your insc for the year then you have to make this add on payment in one lump sum

fh had my ring appraised twice, but i have yet to insure it, will have to do that soon
We got it appraised at the jewelry store we bought it from...and we got it insured under our renters insurance. It is covered no matter where, it doesn't have to necessarily be in the house.

The jewelry store we bought it at appraised it for us. I got a separate policy (b/c neither of us rent or own a house) its called a CHUBB policy through Commerce Insurane. Its pretty cheap for the whole year. My FI went nuts on me for wearing it before I got it done (I did it right away--he's just paranoid).
