Hello Brides! I'm looking for some advice on Reception sites... Choosing between: The Thatched Cottage Majestic Gardens Windows on the Lake and The Woodbury Country Club
Any thoughts? Thank you so much!!!

We had my best friends sweet 16 at Windows on the Lake and it was OK. I looked at Woodbury Country Club and liked it a lot but ended up going with Westbury Manor.

If you are set on your date..... Majestic Gardens said they had just about no saturday nights in 09 until end of may..... but then again I asked about Feb and March... so maybe there are some in January... it's a nice place we looked there
just went to a wedding at THATCHED wedding.. and the service was WONDERFUL.......and the place looked gorgeous.... EXCELLENT FOOD TOO

I looked at thacthed cottage before it was redone, and I thought I was set on that place, but at the time my mom was in a wheel chair as well as my cousin and grandmother, and to get to the outside CH in the back they had to go all the way around the back of the bldg, past where the kitchen and all the crap overflows into, and I really didn't like that, and if it was to rain it would be inside downstairs and she'd have to do the same.. so I couldn't do that, but I really LOVED LOVED LOVED that place!!!

Thanks so much I'm not set on that date but we're looking around that time. I loved the Thatched cottage too. We will be married in a church so no need to worry about the ceremony in the rain.... About 150 guests

My FH and I went to 18 places for our reception...All over Westchester Co. and LI. We went to Woodbury and that was nice. WOTL was cheesy to us, and the food at the bridal show wasn't great (FH is a chef). The last place we visited was Crest Hollow CC and we were so impressed. It was a choice b/t CHCC and Watermill. We ended up to CHCC b/c it was closer to the ceremony site in the Bronx. Oh-and CHCC gave us an awesome deal on the fee b/c of the date.

North Ritz Club is in Syosset on Jericho Tpke just off of 135. Worth taking a look. ( ) Not a bad thing to say about our reception.

Our wedding is at Woodbury. We're happy with them and thought they gave us a good price. We went to a wedding there in September and everything looked great and the food was great. Ran smoothly.

I had mine at Chateau Briand and I can't rave enough about them. they went above and beyond my expectations! I highly recommend them!
of the places you listed, I have only been to the Woodbury Country Club......I went to a wedding there in October and it was very nice. the food was really good! My husband still talks about the filet of sole stuffed with crab meat! he loved it!

I agree!! NRC is amazing and i have not heard one remotely bad thing about the place. Only rave reviews and its gorgeous!

I loved Majestic Gardens, but I didn't feel that they were giving us much for the price. We got a much better deal elsewhere.

You mean having a reception at a hotel? I don't know if there are many places that have the space for weddings.

I have to rave about Larkview Manor in E. Northport. It is superb. I did a mini review in bride's review and also posted under vendor reviews if you want more details. you may want to check them too. I think they are highly underrated on this site. The owners and BM are wonderful, you get oodles of delicious food and the place and grounds are beautiful.
I just got married a few weks ago at Woodbury Country Club. They were unbelievable! The grounds are beautiful, the service was impeccable, and guests ar still calling me up and raving about the food! Feel free to fm me if you have specific questions!

Crest Hollow Country Club. It's not on your original list, but it is also in Woodbury. I'm pretty satisfied and would give it an A. FM me if you want more info.

I just had my wedding at the Roslyn Claremont Hotel - their ballroom can hold almost 200 ppl and they did an amazing job. Most hotels have a ballroom. I highly recommend the hotel wedding if you have a lot of OOT family like we did. Gives everyone the chance to be under one roof the night before and the night of. We loved it!

Two of my FH's cousins got married at Windows on the Lake- the first was last summer and it was okay. The other one was this summer and the food was a lot better this time around. It's an older and smaller place, but we had a good time at both weddings.
We looked at the Thatched Cottage for our wedding, but we had a horrible experience with their customer service and unfortunately, the food at the tasting.
A friend of mine got married at Majestic Gardens and absolutely loved it!
