Just wondering when everyone meet there FH and how long they were together before you got engaged?

thats 2 funny- we meet on american singles after 8 months we moved in together and after 1 year got engaged-- but it only took him 6 months to tell me he loved me
and wanted to take it slow

so much for that but we are sooooooooooo happy

met - when I was 13 (he is my BF's older brother ) but didn't start to date till I was 21!

Dating for a bit over 2 and a half years when engaged

We used to work together when we were younger....dated for 4 & 1/2 years before we got engaged

we met in the 7th grade. he asked me out 3 times in the 8th grade, but i said no bc i was too chicken to date anyone lol. we reconnected in the 11th grade and began 'going out' (10*9*00) and have been together ever since. ~lacey

My best friend hooked me up with her cousin... who was DH's best friend!

Everything happens for a reason, right??

I met FH at a wedding. We didnt talk until after we saw each other out a few times. Finally I asked his name....dated since then.
A little roller coaster ride but worth it.

I met my FH at CoCo's in Huntington (now it's torn down)....SO STRANGE cause we are both not very 'cluby' people....we both happened to get dragged out by some friends. I think it was fate!!

We met through friends at a party. I never though anthing would come out of it but look at us now, we're getting married!!! It took him 4 1/2 years to propose. He was worth the wait though!

We met in HS. Our first meeting was passing on the escalators (I forget if I was going up, him coming down or vice versa). I saw my friends and we were talking across the elevator...They introduced us in increasinly louder voices as the escalators slowly parted us. Only the introduced us as 'Scott' and 'jenny' My friends at the time had some theory about all guys being names Scott, and all girls being named Jenny. So they were close with me, way off with him. I later saw him sitting on the floor playing cards with a bunch of people and we had a brief discussion. They then told me his name was his middle name (it's sort of a funny name), but I eventualyl found out his REAL name. LOL. And I had to convince him that my name really WAS Jenny, while they were telling him my name was Jeff (my name is Jennifer, but my 2 groups of friends in HS called me Jenny and Jeff...odd, no?). Anyway, I don't remeber meeting many other people, but I remember meeting him. Doug says it was love at first sight. I didn't feel that way but it did stick in my memory. After that we saw each other at a few parties and around in school and we became good frineds. We dated for 4.5 years before we got engaged and we just celebrated our 6 year anniversary.

We used to work together. He taught 7 and 8th grade English and I taught SS. He has since left my school to teach HS elsewhere

We met in college, during my freshman year. I was writing for the school newspaper and he had friends who were on it. The first time we met was at this end of semester/holiday party we had, but he doesn't remember that. I thought he was a very sweet, nice guy, but I had a boyfriend so I wasn't interested in that way. Second semester his friends rope him in to working for the paper and we become friends. He likes me, but I still have the boyfriend. We remain friends for a year and a half, and I finally break up with this guy and we end up hanging out more often, me staying at his apt. in the city, and... I still had to finish up school, but then we moved in together after 2 years and got engaged -- finally! -- after 2 years of living together.

SOOOO funny because I believe in fate also...I was dragged out that night by my gf who I worked with. it was one of those days I was feeling, ugly, fat, not having a good day and she convinced me to go out w/ her, well needless to say I spent the night being totally anti-social!! FH walked in with this guy I used to work with, FH sat next to me and we started chatting, needless to say I felt much better after talking to him for a bit
He left that night and called me a few nights later, TOTALLY fate, if I would not have been dragged out that night I would never met the man of my dreams and my FH!!

He was the UPS man that delivered to my job we started dating and 3 months later we moved in together, got engaged 3 1/2 years later.

One night about 2 years ago, one of my friends literally DRAGGED me out to The Crazy Donkey. I didn't want to go but reluctantly went anyway. Well, there he was. This gorgeous guy with a baby blue shirt on. I made my way to the bar and so did he. We stood there talking for what seemed an eternity and went to dinner 3 nights later. From then on we were inseperable!! And now we're GETTING MARRIED!!! Sure, the Crazy Donkey is DEFINITELY not the most romantic place to meet your true love, but it's where I met mine!!
We moved in 1 yr later and were engaged 6 months after that!!
