love this thread!

we met on the subway! in fact, we worked on the same block, only a few doors down.
he came up to me and asked me for the time.

to top it off, it was april fool's day, 1999!

so we booked our party for 04. 01. 06--a saturday! 276 days to go................

FH and I met online through hotornot.com
Totally not looking for romance, we were both just doing it for fun..and now we're getting married.
He proposed after 2 years of dating.

In a bar so crappy that it has been closed because the building is condemned. Classy, I know.

lived across the street from me for a few years b4 i knew he was there..one day one of my friends were playing in front of my house, she called him over, i got embarrassed, ran away and that was it.....i was 12 years old and we started dating at 16 years old..i alawyssss liked him, but he said he didnt like me..BS CUZ NOW WHOSE ENGAGED BEYOTCH! LOL, i always remind him of this..he asid he didnt awnt to ruin our friendship bc we were best friends...

We also met on Yahoo Personals. I answered his and we talked on the phone a couple of times before meeting in person. We moved in together after 8 months and got engaged after 17 months. I always tell my single friends to check out the personals!

I met a lot of people from Yahoo and match.com, and to me, Yahoo just attracted a better class of people IMO.

We met in kindegarten and were really good friends throughout elementary school. We lost contact when he went to a Lutheran Middle and High School. When we were both starting college, he worked in a local grocery store and he would never really say any thing to me, but always talked to my Mom. On my parents 20th wedding anniversary we met back up when he was our waiter at Red Lobster. He started iming me on the computer (out of the blue) and this started the beginning of a great friendship. I pursued him for months but to make this story short, he basically said that he wanted to get his life in order (job-wise, school, etc). I was heart broken. I ended up meeting some one else and eventually got engaged to that guy. David came around and then confessed his feelings for me to my mother and would say silly things like 'May the best man win'. It turned into a competitive thing. Well, the other FI and I broke up but mind you I became best friends with David. SO now of course I couldn't go out with my best friend because I didn't want to ruin the friendship, so stupid me dates someone else. Well that didn't work out and I finally decided to give David a shot and here we are. We were engaged after 10 months. But like I said, I know him since kindegarten.....best thing I could've ever done was date my best friend

I was walking home from work which i happend to be working late (which i never do) and he was out of work early (which now i know he never leaves work early). While i was walking home this guy in a car was looking at me so i give him a smile then crossed the street and to my surprise he made a u-turn and double parked and i went to talk to him gave him my # and weve been together ever since.

He moved into my house a little over a year after we were dating...we moved out on our own 9 mos later.

He proposed after 3 yrs 10 mos.

We met Junior year in college! we shared many classes together but both of us were in serious relationships at the time...We remained friends & ended up starting to date right after graduation in May 2001...Dated almost 3 years prior to engagement

Saturday is our 4 yr anniversary

YES I definetely agree that Yahoo attracts better people..well that was my experience

We met on a cruise and got engaged a year later. Definitely fate.

He dated someone I worked with but the first night I really talked and met him was at the crazy donkey (I know) we moved in 6 months later.... engaged not even 2 years later

We meet at Paddy McGee's Sunday happy hour. He was on his way to the bathroom and I had to stop him because he had the most amazing eyes
