Long story short...we met at Chelsea Street, but he was a friend of my friend. I talked to him for about 15 minutes, excused myself to go to the ladies room and when I came back, he was gone...the nerve! ( I found out later he had to be at work in an hour) About 6 weeks later, (after I had started dating someone else), went out with the same friend one night and bumped into Dan and his friends. I was supposed to meet up with my new guy later, when my friend says to Dan, lets all leave and go somewhere else. I was like wait, I have other plans, but nobody was listening to me. So I made an excuse to the other guy and we went to another bar. I ended up talking to Dan for hours and I knew that I had found the right guy. And we lived happily ever after (lol!)

A week before my older sister's Bachelorette party my girls and i went to Zachary's. As we pulled into the parking lot my friend said...'THIS IS WHERE ALL THE GIRLS MEET THEIR HUSBANDS' I just laughed it off and said yeah right. a week later we went for the Bachelorette party...We hit Escapes then the club. As were all were walking into the club i see my FH and all of his friends walking into the club too. We exchanged a few words and laughs and then went in. About an hour later we met up again in the middle of the dance floor and danced for a while. We started talking and that is all we did for the rest of the night...All of my friends thought we already knew each other because of the way we just clicked that night. And the funny thing was I almost didn't make it out because I had the flu that whole week before. I guess my friend was right...that is the place girls meet their husbands!!! And we are still dancin'.

This is such a cool thread!! Peter and I met through our friends. His best friend from elementary school and my best friend from elementary school were dating (now married) and my friend Annie had this guy she wanted me to meet. I met up with all of their friends and she really wanted me to go out with this guy Matt-whom I really wasn't attracted to. Peter was there and didn't pay much attention to me. The quieter the guy-the more I'm attracted. So I wished for Peter in a fountain - no joke!! 3 days later I got my wish and we've been together for 9 years.

You won't believe this one, but I was actually dating my FI's co-worker Chris casually and that is how we met. I was going to the movies with Chris one night and it turns out that Chris's co-workers (incl. my fiance) were at the same movie. So we all went for drinks afterwards and I spent the whole night talking to my FI! After drinks I thought that I had to set my FI up with one of my girlfriends b/c he was perfect! Well after a couple of weeks I broke it off with Chris since it wasn't a good match and since we stayed friends, I still saw my FI every now and then. One night we were all supposed to meet up, but Chris didn't show and long story short my FI and I started dating and now we're getting married!

Friends of ours, who are married now, arranged to go out as a group one night. Their plan was to introduce FH and I. I didn't want to go because I had just gotten back from studying abroad my entire summer in France and I was dragged to hang out my first Thursday back. Funny thing he didn't want to go either! Once my friend and I went inside the club I saw him from across the dance floor and new he was the person I was supposed to meet and just new deep down inside something would happen between us. We didn't speak till after the club closed but we did outside for 3 hours. We hung out at his house that same night and here we are now! The best part is that we didn't have to get introduced by our friends because the attraction and chemistry was already there.

hmmm. in the basement of a frat party! A real great story to tell our grandkids...
We met in college..I was 19..we hooked up...didn't get together b/c of multiple reasons, but a few months later found each other again and we have been together 8 years now. After we hooked up the first time I told a friend that I knew we would be together (she thought I was psycho) but we ended up meeting again.....and we haven't been apart since!

I met my husband Al at a Halloween party when I was 18. The first thing he did was wrap me in toilet paper (I was a mummy) and he made quite an impression! It was the first time I remember thinking 'I wish I didn't have a boyfriend'
Tricky part was - the boyfriend was Al's good friend that I had just started dating a few months earlier. Thats why we were both at this party. The friend and I dated for 5 years, and a month after breaking up, Al and I got together.
It was just supposed to be a fling (to get it out of our systems) and we didn't tell anyone for awhile. It was only a few months before he moved to CA to get his graduate degree at Stanford. And we figured the move would be the end of it. It didn't work out that way. Though we tried to fight our feelings, we couldn't help ourselves. We did the long distance thing for 2 years and then I moved. 2 years later we were engaged.
Took some time for the friend to come around to the idea but he did and he attended our wedding.
Today's our 2 month anniversary!
(funny thing is Al and I grew up literally around the block from each other and never knew each other. Because he went to private school we never met, but our parents are only 5 houses away. I wonder how different things would have been if we met when we were 12!)

Mine's not too romantic - we met in college 8 years ago, and at the time I was dating one of his fraternity brothers That guy ended up to be a total loser but I remained friends with a few of the guys, and started dating my now FH about 2 months later....and no, he won't be receiving a wedding invitation from us.... LOL

I met my FH at work. When I first started with the company, he was engaged. He broke it off a few months later (long story - she was wacky - car vandalized, punched him in the face, restraining order, etc. - you get the picture). A few months after that whole saga, he started hanging out at my desk, buying me coffee, etc. I used to tell my close friend, 'Rob is such a nice guy - If he asked me to marry him tomorrow I totally would'. Little did I know, he was about to ask me to go to the movies with him and the rest is history!

A friend of mine had a birthday party for her then boyfriend at Hennessey's pub in New Hyde Park. Needless to say it was a big bash. I met John (though neither of us remember to cleary ) at the endof the night. We shared a kiss & exchanged numbers. He called me a few days later to go out for drinks but Party of 5 season finale was on so I said I couldn't. (hey it was my fave show) I was at Hennessey's 6 mths later (I didn't even recognize him) He was talking to my friends Grandmother & she asked if he knew my friend & he said no but I know Tracy. Well my mouth dropped I had no clue it was him! I said hello asked him how he was & he went back to his spot at the bar. Some guy came in selling T-shirts (don't ask) & John bought me one. We started talking & it was like we've known eachother forever! We had a rocky begining but we now have a child & we can't wait to become man & wife!!
Funny note is that I used to only date latin men. And I would always tell my family wait you'll see I'll end up marrying an Irish guy w/ red hair & a goatee! And that is what I'm doing!!

I met my husband Mitch when I placed a photo personal on Love @aol. I hd been dating guys from the Jewish community and I seeing this guy VERY casualy. When I placed the ad I was using my not normal screen name and I got back a ton of responses..SO I was lookinf through and just looking at the reply line. But when I opened Mitch’s email something about what he wrote caught my eye. SO I used to race home from work to check my e-mail . We finally spoke on the phone and 5 hours later we decided to meet. At the Mall the next night.. and we have been together ever since…The funny part is that My Mom and Mitch’s Dad both Graduated from the same high school and knew each other…

Harry and I meet online. We chatted for a bit then I had to go out, He gave me his phone number and asked me to call him when I got home. It was 10pm and we talked on the phone for 3 hrs we really hit it off!! We decided to meet on Saturday night at Ruby Tuesdays and proceeded to talk until we were finally asked to leave! I have to say it was love at first sight for both of us. And now we are married for 8 months!!!

I also met my FH on AOL.
I had been hit by a car & had my foot in a cast & was on crutches. I was stuck at home with nothing to do but lay on the couch & watch TV. When I couldn't take that anymore I would hobble into my computer room & prop my foot up on my desk and sit there for a few hours until my A$$ hurt. So one day while I was there I was getting bored so I started searching member profiles using keywords - single, romantic, romance & Long Island. Came up with a list of profiles with those words in it & saw that he was online so I started to chat with him. A few days later I got an IM from him but didn't recognize the name so I asked 'Do I know you?' We started chatting online & emailing each other. When I finally got my cast off & could walk again one day I asked if I'd ever get to meet him. He said maybe & told me he was off the next day & so was I so we met for lunch and I stayed talking to him for 3 hrs. Had to leave to go to the Dr. but told him I'd email him my phone # which I did. But he was so quiet & I did most of the talking so I thought he was bored & didn't expect to hear from him again but to my surprise I heard from him that weekend & we went out the following week. We have been inseperable ever since!!!!

I met Kenny in an international chat room March 2000. He is from Scotland. We were pen pals for a while and then he has been flying across about every other month for 2 years 3 months. We are waiting for his Fiance Visa to be approved and hopefully will be married Nov 2002. Very expensive courtship between flights and phone bill. Oh, but sooooo romantic

I lived in Long Beach with some friends and we were looking for another roomate. I just started dating a guy two days before. the guy I was dating brought in PJ ( My FH) to look at the room. It was love at first sight! After they left I told my girlfriends I wished I had met PJ first. A few weeks went by Pj moved in and we became best friends and I continued having a long distance relatonship w/ Brad. I soon found out Brad was cheating on me. A few weeks later Pj and I confessed our true feelings for each other. Our feelings were mutual.

My mom had a chocolate store in a little town on the Hudson. There was a woman with a vintage clothing store down the hall. I worked there the Summer I left college. Well, long hours with no business, I got close to this woman and she told me she was going to introduce me to the man I would marry. I said no way - I was in a three year relationship - the next weekend, this great looking guy walked in. Blushing he said - you are the woman I am supposed to marry. ....9 years later, here we are and that woman is speaking at our wedding!
