This whole wedding planning thing has got me very overwhelmed... where did you start?

Hi! welcome... I started by looking at RHs... everything else has fallen into place after that. Once I picked an RH I booked the church.

get a rough guest list together so you know how big of a venue you need. then figure out what you want in a reception hall. find some that you have interest in and go check em out!

We met with our parents to get s budget and an approximate guest list. Then we started looking at reception halls. Good luck :)

we started with our church, then figured out a rough guest list, then went looking for halls. After that how ever you want to book vendors go for it, there is no specific order to booking vendors
I still can't believe all the stuff I have to do...

get an idea of how many guests, then look at RH and then Church if needed and then move onto all the other details. But I would put a move on it because you want to be able to get everything you want.

first thing i did was research reception halls and made appointments (some i just walked into). i put together a quick preliminary guest list and went by that to see how much i could guarantee. i had no idea of date/time of year until i went to the RH's and got a feel for their pricing at different times....after i booked my RH, then i booked my church (i know youre really supposed to do this the other way around but i wanted to secure my RH date first), and then photog/video, dj, florist... so far thats all i have so far

first, get your guest list and budget together....this way you know approximately how many people and what you can afford. then start doing some research on RH's and make appointments.

Reception hall and ceremony location are the first things I did also. Then you have the foundation to start looking into everything else. Good luck!! I found looking at rh so much fun!!

First we booked the church because we already knew the date that we wanted (on a holiday weekend) and that we wanted my church. Then we came up with an approx guest list and started making appts to look at RHs. About a week and a half after the engagement we had both booked Now comes all of the other stuff to plan, but taking a break til after the holidays before I even start worrying about anything else!

I first set a budget- then figured out my guest list and how much I wanted to pay per person. Then I started looking at RH's. Afterwards things just started falling into place.

We started with discussing a time frame and color scheme, once we knew January would be our time we went from there. That also helped determine a budget
We then started looking into Reception halls to see which we liked. After visiting maybe 14-15 we chose one, then booked our Photographer and a Harpist for the ceremony. Our officiant is a friend of FH's family (cantor) and he works with a priest for the dual faith ceremony, which helped a lot. We still have DJ and Flowers for the major vendors to go
The first big thing is figure out where the money is coming from, and what your budget is. A lot will depend on that

We started with deciding if we wanted to get married at a church or a reception hall. After we decided on a church, we booked that first and then we booked the reception hall. Now it's on to photography and entertainment!
