Where do I start?

Where do I start?

FH and I have agreed to start booking vendors when we get back from our trip to the bahamas.
We, like many of you Im sure, have a very limited amount of time together right now to see vendors and go to showcases between our work and my school schedule.

In your searches, are there any vendors we ABSOLUTLEY must see? (DJ, Photographer, Limo) Not looking to spend top dollar on things!

Are there things I should wait to book? (ex florist)

TIA for all your suggestions!

think to yourself which aspects of your wedding are important to you and FH...for example most people say the photographer is the most imp vendor for them...i would say book that vendor first and make sure u both are happy with the quality of the pics and albums.

being an oct bride also gives u more time...so dont worry ull get things done...just take it one vendor at a time...and do lots of research online via vendor websites and reviews...and recommendations

like for photo...u can probably narrow down the list to your top choices and then only make appts to the ones u absolutely love...u can also try calling ppl to get quotes...hope that helps!

and if it makes u feel better...we've only booked the rh and church...i know a bunch of girls are in the same boat

I absolutely love my dj and I know he is already booking for 2009, so if you want you should contact Tommy Tunes. I only had to leave a deposit of $400 whem I booked him and my package came out to be just about $2,500 and thats w. cocktail hour music, dj and mc, live percussionist and a light show.

Re: Where do I start?

Fh and I have crazy schedules and its a pain to look at these places when we have free time (even though we do) so i plan on going to the florist and little things like invitations, favors & limos on my own and then involve him when i made a desicion as to what vendor is better. then we can decide together on the final. I definatley suggest booking dj , photo & video together

I definately recommend velvet for photo and video. I also really liked my DJ Spin Around Sound.

I would begin as soon as possible. I am getting married a month after you and all of the vendors we have seen so far have limited availability. Definately check out Duet and Patken. For DJ you should check FM Entertainment and High Voltage. They have very good prices. My venue recommends Dynasty Limos but I have yet to look into them, or heard anything about them. I live in Westchester and FH is on the island so everything we do is on weekends or I go back and forth during the week and it's a total pain. Good luck, but start as soon as you can. Most places are already booked for 2008.
