Re: Where do I start?
The first thing I did was research halls and booked one.Accomplishing that gave a sense of relief, because usually that is the is the most expensive vendor and I worked out a payment plan to pay off the hall.
Second, I found the dress and ordered it.
Third, I booked photography/video.
I suggest thinking of where you want to have your reception and researching that to get you started.
Oh and WELCOME!

Re: Where do I start?
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I would hall is the biggest thing, once that is done you can go into DJ/band, photo, video, and flowers. If you are paying for most, or all of it, yourselves you should make a budget too, unless you have already done one. That way you'll know what you can and can't afford.

Re: Where do I start?
Welcome! Definetely start with looking @ Halls and book one asap-they really do book up quickly! Then look into photo/video and start getting ideas for your dress---flowers and limos are something that can wait a little longer....unless you're anxious like me and just want to get it done! LOL GOOD LUCK!

Re: Where do I start?
Welcome
Congrats
First, you want to shop around for reception site. Before you book the reception site, check with your church that the day is avaliable. Both should be booked on or about the same day. After that, you will want to shop for your dress. Most bridal salons recommend the bride order her dress 9-12 months before wedding date. Then go from there... attend a few bridal shows, see some bands/DJ's preform, ect. Def shop around when it comes to the photographer as well. You will want to make sure you are comfortable with the photographer, being the fact that you spend most of your day with them. Have fun, you have a year!

Re: Where do I start?
congratulations!First thing is to book the Church (if you are using one) or hall. Priests appreciate it if you book the Church first, so you might want to go to halls or call halls and find out what dates they have open and then go to the church or book the hall first and then hope you can get that day at the Church.
Then people book photographers and videographers next. There's tons of vendors on here. You can also buy wedding magazines (the ones that focus on Long Island and NY are your best bet for vendors).
After that you should have a good handle on when to book things. Good luck!

Re: Where do I start?
Congratulations! I started with reception site, church, photographer and band. These were the most important things for me. And, it's a relief to get the most important things coordinated and nailed down first. So, I'd say, just try to figure out what's most important to you first, and go from there. Good luck!!
