Where do you Bank?

Where do you Bank?

I'm having some problems with my bank, specifically tellers who cannot input money and post balances correctly and I may be looking to switch banks really soon.

Where does everyone bank? And what do you like about the bank? (internet accessability, money posting to account ASAP, many bank locations throughout NY, friendly service, etc ...)

I need to find a bank that is going to do a 110% job and not make me go home and do all the work for them!

I have accounts at Chase. Chase is OK.

My bank is washington mutual. I love it. They give you free checking, no undisclosed fees, online banking with free bill pay. It's the best bank I have had.

I use the Suffolk Federal Credit Union, I love that I have access to my accounts via phone or internet.
I also have just a savings account at Washington Mutual.

That's where the tellers keep F'in up. Over the past month they have added over $3,000 into my account which has never been deposited. They are just being sloppy and hitting the wrong keys (3000 instead of 300)when they update my passbook. And when you go there they do not automatically update the book for direct deposits.

Bank of America, formerly Fleet. I've been with them for years and haven't had any problems. (I know I'm jinxing myself) They have free checking and a bunch of other stuff.

ETA: They have branches EVERYWHERE. I travel a lot for business and I never really have to worry about any ATM fees. I mean coast to coast!

HSBC and I have never had any problems with them......I joined in 1995 when I went to college upstate and they were called Marine Midland.

I have a couple accounts at HSBC, and just openend a checking account at Citibank

DH had an account at Roslyn , which we turned into a joint account - however it isn't exactly convenient for us since we live in Westchester

I have no problems whatsoever with any of the above banks Being in the city, I appreciate the fact that HSBC and Citibank have lots of convenient locations, though I must say I rarely (if ever) go to the bank unless I need to make a deposit ... which I normally do by ATM anyhow. I do all my banking via the internet or ATM's on a whole

I just closed ALL of my accounts with HSBC because I didn't care for them. I'm not thrilled with Citibank but it's where our money is for now.

I closed my accounts w/ HSBC too - and they kept me waiting for an hour to do it!

I now have Bank of NY, and they're not much better, but at least I have online banking and there's a branch on the way from home to work.

My husband has a pasbook account at Republic & when it changed to HSBC they kept it for old customers even though they didnt' have them for new customers. He had a lot of problems with it . It seems to be better now that he has a regular statement account.

Maybe that is part of the problem. Did Commerce used to be comething else?

I don't know if Commerce was something else before, but we opened a passbook with Commerce. A lot of Commerce customers have passbooks. I actually like it, except that they are idiots when it comes to keeping it correct ... I spent 3 hours last night going through all of my withdrawlas, deposits and interest payments to figure out the mistake. There was more than one mistake too. It's just so frustrating.
Commerce is so convient - 3 near my house and 1 near my job and 1 near DH's job ... but maybe we should just switch to another bank and be incovienced. GRRR. I think I'm going to make an appointment with the Bank manager at Commerce to lodge a complaint.
