After we first got married, we lived with a friend of DH's for a few months - there was a dining room in the house, but he didn't eve have a TABLE!!!
We ate on a snack tables in the living room every night...it was so awful.
Now that we have our own place, I notice we almost never eat in front of the TV, only when we rent a movie on the weekends or something. I think it's good, it makes us sit and talk to one another for an hour or so at the end fo the day.
Just wondering what everyone else does?

We eat at our DR table now that we have the house. We used to eat on snack trays in front of the TV at our apartment. I hated that.

we have a kitchen table rightnow in the apartment. When our real kitchen is finished we will have an island with stools and a dining room table. I have a feeling we will be on the stools.

most nights we eat at the kitchen table...if we want to watch a movie or tv, we'll eat in the living room on the couch..

Wehave this really nice dark wood...Cherry I believe it is...with a frosted glass topped kitchen table....and we eat in the living room so we can watch friends and raymond lol.... Scott

we got a kitchen table and chairs at a garage sale just for now.....it now holds my crafting stuff. We still eat in front of the TV

Dining room which has a great view of the living room TV. We should probably not have the TV on though.

Same here! In our apartment we ate in front of the tv. But we have been very good to not watch tv while we eat and we eat at the kitchen table. Whenever we have company we eat at our dining room table.

We eat at the dining room table. The kitchen is only a working area (no room for a table) so our dining room is our main source of a table at which to eat.
We both prefer it this way. The coffee table is usually being run and jumper over by the cats (well, sometimes they get to the dining rom table, but not as much).
I also come from a long line of women who like to 'set a pretty table' and I like to set the table no matter what the meal (i.e. even for pizza!!)

At the dining room table...but if there is something on TV we can see the TV sorta from the table. But we usually eat without it.

Depends, I'd say 50/50 - in front of the TV and at the kitchen table. If I cooked a big meal I like to eat at the kitchen table so we enjoy it!

We have a kitchen table, and ate there when we first got married...we slowly migrated to the snack tables in front of the TV, and now we never eat on the kitchen table unless we have company.

We usually eat in the kitchen. Sometimes we eat at our dining table where we can see th tv but I really prefer not to watch tv when we eat.

Us too.
Occassionally DH says, lets just eat in front of the tv, I don;t want it to be a big deal?!
I don't know what big deal hes talking about since I do all the setting, cooking and cleaning up.
ETA: After spending money on a nice dining room table, I want to get use out of it!
Also I think once you start eating in front of the TV it will be harder to break the pattern

We have a kitchen table , but it is in part of the living room. We don't eat there though, b/c in the old apartment the kitchen was so tiny we ate in front of the tv & just got used to it.
And we usually don't eat untill 8, so we eat & watch prime time tv.
