Re: Where do you suggest I go looking?
I would check out Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, Wedding Salon of Manhasset, Saks, then I would also look thru magazines and see what designers you like the go to places that sell them - Some of the individual designers have some great salons - If you go to Kleinfelds don't get Margaret she was horrible.
I would bring either pictures of dresses you like or know the names of designers so that they can bring those out to you. Check out saks though - they really knew what looked good on the person and I their prices were much better than Kleinfelds (who was charging more 300$ or more for the same dress) - My friend got a gorgeous bagley miskha there for a very good price (plus if you open a card there they give you 10% off)
Check out Weddingchannel too they have dresses there as well.
Keep us updated on how it all goes - good luck!

I haven't been there, but Kleinfeld in Bay Ridge has a huge selection.

Re: Where do you suggest I go looking?
I would have to say start of at RK Bridal because because of the huge selection. I had no clue what I wanted and looking through the dresses yourself is easier for the first time. This way you can see what you like and don't like. I didn't get my dress there though. Once I found what I liked and was able to narrow it down I went to stores that picked out dresses for me (which I didn't love). I went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, Iman, The Wedding Salon of Manhasset and Kleinfelds and had great experiences at all of them. Good luck!!!!
