I've never had a free trial before- i.e. make up counters in dept. stores etc......my e-pics are tomorrow, where should I go? If I have time possibly Roosevelt Field Mall- should I go to the MAC store? A salon, dept store??? Any suggestions are appreciated!!!

Re: where have you had a 'free' make up trial??
I will be going to Sephora this week. I know a few girls who work there and they're going to point me to someone experienced.
Try a department store if you like. That way you'll have an assortment of styles/brands to pick from.

I got a trail with a MAC representative at Macys...the trial is free but you have to buy $40 worth of their products...

I went to Bare Essentuals in Roosevelt Field a couple of weeks ago. You might end up really liking their makeup too...its mineral.

I love going to the MAC store. If you play your cards right, you can purchase something small (who cant use a lip gloss these days) and get your entire face made up.
Good luck!

if I buy $65 worth of crap and she only does one side of my face, I'll punch her on the one side of HER face! although that would definitely be an interesting look for the e-pics!!

Hey Helen,
Why don't you go to roosevelt field mall. I went there yesterday and L'Oreal was there doing some promotion and they gave free makeup trials and you didnt have to buy anything and they gave you free samples. The girl who did mine was jeanette and she did a great job. The setup is right near macy's and the disney store. Hope that helps

Re: where have you had a 'free' make up trial??
personally, i would be wary of these. for my friends wedding we went to the prescriptives counter at a dept. store (great makeup, btw)- our makeup came out terrible, and there wasn't enough time to do it over before the ceremony- i'm blonde and pale and she gave me lime green eye shadow...not one of my best looks.
if you are going to a make up counter, i would see if you can get a reference for someone first...i really don't mean to sound snotty when i say this, but in my opinion (and this is based on my negative experience), there is a reason the person is selling make up instead of doing make up professionally.

I think they do trials for free at the MAC store but you have to go when it's not that busy. I had to pay for mine...and left so unhappy! but everyone does make up differently so give it a try and see!
