i actually told fh about the place essex yesterday bc he received an email about one of his favorite clothing brands opening up its flagship store downtown, the one in tokyo was huge and im sure pharrell will do something big but we want to check it out and i said Ooo if we go theres this place we can go to for brunch so hopefully we'll get to go
That sounds awesome. You have to check out the New Designers market also. They have it on saturdays and sundays in an old church. All local designers jewelry accessories. Make sure you use opentable.com for ressies for Essex. Also, Paladar and azul bistro also has brunch with a Spanish/argentinian flair. May be a little less 'crazed' than essex.

awesome 80's prom is GREAT! Also, an AMAZING dinner spot is Tao. It's a LITTLE expensive(i believe u can check everything out on their website) but it's awesome. very trendy, VERY manhattan. It's been on Sex & the City & stuff....check it out..the food & atmosphere is unbelievable - and u definetly need reservations!

ps: u could also try out Beauty Bar. It's sorta a bar crossed with a salon I hear u can get a pedi or a mani with a signature martini for 10 bucks!

ive been there, it was happy hour so nobody was there that day doing mani's or pedi's

Love that place! Its a 1950's style hair salon/bar.

Ok so I am debating between hitting up 9th ave ( mangia e bevi , Joshua Tree, etc) or doing meatpakcing area... love gansevort and buddah bar, maritime is great too!!!

Definitely MPD....
9th is fun (Vynyl, mangia, etc.) but it's a TOTALLY different scene. But Hells Kicthen can be fun.
Depends if youre going for more laid back or more crazy! If you're considering 9th, but wanna do more laid back, Hudson Hotel and the bar at the Mandarin Oriental are really nice.
