Has anyone booked anything new lately? I have to get rolling! I need Limos, and someone to marry us ! I guess I have been on a break lately and taking it easy. But the days are going by so quickly! I go for my engagement shots on saturday morning. Hopefully I don't have bags under my eyes. I am so used to getting to sleep on the weekends.

I know what you mean about getting rolling. I just started doing things again! I made my makeup trial appt yesterday, and I e-mailed the florist today for an appt. Next I have to block hotel rooms, and send out my STD's. The days ARE going by very quickly. I haven't made an appt. for our e-pics yet...and I have no idea when we will.

I know exactly what you mean! Hitting the one year mark was a wakeup for me. Now I'm beginning to realize that the one year mark happened 2 months ago, I don't want to be planning up to the last minute!!!!!
Urgh, don't even get me started on taking e-shots. When the heck is that going to happen, probably when I lose the weight I want--a week before the wedding

Thanks! How do you know how many rooms to block at the hotel? How do you know who is going to stay and who is going to travel back? Lots of FH family is from Staten Island, and some of my family is coming from Florida. The ones from Florida, usually stay at families houses. But I am not sure what to do about the hotel????? What if they hold like 5-10 rooms and nobody books them? Do you get penelized for it? Thanks!

Jen- The only reason I know how many rooms to book is that ALL of FH family and friends are from Mass, and there are 18 couples on the list, so I figured about 13 rooms...(his family are five rooms alone, plus his GM's, another 2, and our room, so there are 8 rooms already..LOL) That's the only reason I had to make the guest list early...and my wedding is at 12:15, so they are gonna have to come down the night before, and it ends at 5:30 (and I KNOW some of them won't want to drive home after all the drinking they will be doing! LOL) I know that I have to guarantee 10 rooms (that will be NO prob) to get the special rate, and then if there are any left, they just release them. OH...it's the Hampton Inn in Brookhaven...
bethsiar- I know what you mean about the weight! Same here! LOL.

white and various shades of lavender/purple....not sure what flowers I want yet, though... My FMIL is making my centerpieces (it saved us MUCHO money) So I just need my BO-K, the BM's, bouts, corsages, cake flowers, and 2 arrangements for the dais. I wish I had an idea about what I want, though...I have NO creative juices at ALL....

We haven't booked anything lately. We still haven't gone to see the florist I'm studying for the bar right now, so that's going to have to wait till August.

It's kind of scary (and exciting) isn't it? I keep thinking 'this time next year I'm going to be married!!!' Right now I'm in the process of moving. I'm trying to get things done so that I can go to the GTG on Sunday night, but it may be difficult since we have alot to do here in the city & New Jersey. But I'm trying because I really want to meet you girls!! I hope that if I end up not coming we can meet at another GTG! But I'm packing as much as I can!

The florist should be fun! My mother used to own a florist and I worked for her since I was a kid. My aunt also does wedding flowers, so if anyone is interested she is Flowers by Rosemary. I am getting my flowers done by her, but not really because me and my mother are going to do all of the arranging. I miss it! and I know my mom does too. This way we get the help and the flowers much much cheaper!
Melissa, I will look around for pics for you. Good Luck at the florist. Bring in pics of flowers and styles of arrangements that you like. That will help the florist out in trying to figure out what your style is.

Jess- I know what you mean by scary!! I keep thinking about this, and at times, it's very overwhelming! It's just so weird to think- omg..in 344 days, I will be getting dressed right now for my wedding!! AAAHHHHH!! lol.
Jen- Where is your aunt located? I WISH I had the creativity to arrange flowers...I have tried and tried, but they always seem to come out kinda mish-mash- nothing seems to look right!! (My mom is a silk flower FANATIC, so there are plenty aroudn the house for me to play with... ) Thank you for looking for pics..I really appreciate it! I am thinking about something like this for me, but change the blue flowers to something lavender....What do you ladies think of this?
Did any of you guys go for BM dresses yet? Any suggestions where to go? I may go with 2 of my BM's this summer and need some ideas. I heard the bridal center in Commack was reasonable ( I also need a place that carries large sizes).
Have fun with the flowers BTW! I haven't picked out colors yet, but they had a sample that I fell in love with when I booked them so they took a polaroid of it and put it in my file. For me, the best part of planning so far has been the dress & flowers.

I'm going this summer for BM dresses too.. so i don't want to do flowers till i get their dresses. Can i book someone then deal with picking the flowers later? I don't know how that works. I was thinking Bridal reflections for dresses. there were some at davids i liked but haven't heard great things about them
I'm seeing some photographers next week. I hope to book one before we go away on the 18th.
I got the magnets to make my save the date.
I'm going to call and have trials with makeup but i don't know who to pick. Maybe i'll try daniellerenee first. (since one makeup person hasn't gotten back to me STILL about if my date is open)

Hi Tracy, you can still book the florist without picking flowers. You just pick them a few months before (that's what I'm doing). I would love to send out STD's only getting my FI to give me ALL the names & addresses of people he's inviting is like pulling teeth, so we may end up not sending them out, or just sending to mainly my side How are you making them, are you using a program like Publisher?

LOL....My FH is just as bad with the addresses! I have been asking him for 3 months now (I knew I would have to start early) and he STILL hasn't gotten ANY of them for me! He makes me crazy sometimes!!
Jen, thanks for looking for pics...I need all the help I can get! I am so jealous of you ladies who are artistic. Every time I try and do something, it comes out all mish-mash!
One thing I do have checked off my list is the BM's dresses. The girls wanted something specific, and they found it in Chadwicks, so they ordered them in April, and had them in May...one less thing I have to worry about! lol.
Tracy- I am SO looking forward to getting my trial with DanielleRenee'. She was so sweet on the phone. I just hope I like her work!!

I want to post my STD but i have to figure out how to save a .doc as a jpeg or gif or something... I used word to make them. Business card size magnets.
My dad is the one that is slow with telling me who he wants to invite and all the addresses. He keeps saying, 'no you don't have to invite anyone else, you don't have to invite your cousins' he doesn't understand we are under the minimum so he better start inviting people!!! grrrrrr
