We have registered for Villeroy and Bach switch 3 pattern -for our everyday - we are registered at fortunoffs and bloomingdales. They seem to alternate over who has the better deal. Sometimes one is much better deal than the other.

Where were you thinking of getting yours and what were you thinking of getting?

I have no idea! I was able to decide on my china with no problem (Waterford, Westport pattern

I will be going out tonight, looking around for some of the everyday stuff!

Wish me luck!

I got mine at Fortunoff. They are very simple. Nautica...just a blue stripe. I love them.

AHHHHHH I LOVE that pattern it is gorgeous! But then I'm partial to blue. We went with something more simply - my mother has a beautiful blue pattern like that but had trouble with some holidays so she now has two sets of china...lol. I wanted something that would go with all my colors.

This what I am registered for:
My GOOD stuff
Vera Wang - Grogain (wedgewood)

Lucerne - by Waterford

My parents bought us our whole silver flatware - and all the pieces that go with it - we even get the case for it!
Victorian Bead - it matches the beading on the china
You can't see the beading along the handle in the picture

Here is my EVERYDAY
Here are the plate - they are mix and match -

These are the everyday glasses:

We wanted plain white 'diner' type dishes. We have a kitschy theme in our living/dining room (city apartment, so we don't have sep. dining area). We picked Pier 1 Imports.

Mine are Villeroy and Boch Florea (and the mix and match patterns for it). We registered for it at Bloomies - At the time, Fortunoff didn't have as many of the pieces of it in stock or on display which I didn't like. Plus, Fortunoff's completion plan is not as good as Bloomie's. That was really important to me. Needless to say, most of our things are on the Bloomingdales registry - everyday dishes included.

Yeah bloomies has a great completion policy. That is one of the reasons that we registered there the other - my stepgrandfathers son in law - works there and offered to buy whatever is left on our registry with his additional employee discount!

But with everyone buying almost exclusively off of bloomies I might not have anything left to buy!

my idea of everday dishes are phalscraft. i dont know what type of dinners everyone in this room is throwing but vera wang and some of these other names sound like formal china. i would be too scared to put them in the dishwasher let alone chip them at the dinner table.

Re: Where is everyone getting their everyday dishes?

Corrine - if you look at what Kathi and I posted - we were comparing out everyday with our good china - the vera wang will be used for dinner parties and holiday dinners.

Oh geez I could never imagine using them on a daily basis - I don't think I could cook nice enough even night to be impressed by them - I would be exhusted

its amazing how expensive this stuff gets. i only registered for what i needed one of my friends registered for a baking sheets and measuring cups. i can always pick that stuff up from the store rather people buy the plates and glasses i know im not going to be able to afford after we get married. rather have a complete set then half a set but a bundt pan.

Re: Where is everyone getting their everyday dishes?

I know what you mean - that is part of the reason I registered for many of the things I did - I know I can always buy myself the everyday things - but honestly if some of these things aren't given to me I would probably not buy them - but if we get a few sets of something it is our incentive to buy it - where as - I just can't seem to ask people to buy a measuring cups etc. I do have things of all different price ranges but still...

Re: Where is everyone getting their everyday dishes?

I'm registering for the Pfalzgraf Summer breeze pattern which I'll post below for my 'everyday dishes'. I already have service for 13 of Lennox Poppies on Blue which I will use as my 'formal dishes' since I'm not registering for fine china. The poppies on blue is chinastone which is their equivalent of casual china.

Villeroy and Boch - FLorea, Ferro and Filigree - its a 3 pattern mix n'match deal at Fortunoff. I LOVE it but so far only have 2 place settings - and I already had my shower, at which I got ELEVEN formal place settings!
