I'm debating whether I should have it at home or in a restaurant. Still very undecided. What is everyone else doing?

We wanted it in FIL's back yard but since the weather was so rainy all summer, we had it @ the Irish Coffee Pub. It was awesome....and it still rained that nice!!!!

We had ours at La Locanda in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The food was absolutely delicious. We only had 25 people so it was perfect for the little back room they had.

Fh and I had our engagment party this past fourth of July at his house. It was great and everyone enjoyed the fireworks that we had!

We had our's on Roosevelt Island, at a park. It was alot of fun. The best part was it lasted for hours longer than an eparty at a resturant would have. We did a yankee themed party and our guests wore their yankees (and mets jersey). We had games for the kids, beer pong, catering...it was so much fun!

my parent's house!! we only had 40 people and they have a big house, so it was perfect!! my only problem is i'm worried that my parents will want to have the shower and the rehearsal dinner at their house too!!! that's just too much!!

We had a NY one in my finance's backyard. It was a party with bartenders, caterers and 'The Human Ipod' guitarist. It was amazing thanks to the moms!
Our Florida Engagment party was in a rooftop clubhouse and the food was delicious thanks to me:)

We had too many people to have it at either of our parents' houses, which is what we would have liked to do. We ended up having it at The Club at The Metropolitan in Glen Cove. The Club is their lower level, and PERFECT for an e-party! They have a huge awesome bar and plenty of room. We had 65 guests for a 3 hour cocktail party. It was a Sunday afternoon from 4:30-7:30 pm, with a big Mediterranean table and passed hors d'oeuvres, top shelf open bar, and cookies and pastries for dessert. A great success!
Thats where we wanted our eparty but FH family (who was paying) decided ti have it at Sans Souci. It was great too but we love the Metropolitan...Hoping to have RD there..... Sans Souci had great food and beautiful scenery. Fh's friends works at the met and we have been there several times and its like family to us so thats why we wanted it there so bad. You can't go wrong with either. FM me if u have questions.

ours was about 25 people, and we had it at Charlie Browns in Garden City Park. There is a private room for up to 30 people

We had ours in my parents backyard. It was a lot of fun and EXACTLY what we were looking for. Something that was casual and comfortable for everyone. We had it catered so my parents didn't really have to do anything. I enjoyed it. It really depends what you are looking for. We didn't want the dressy party type and we liked that people could leave whenever they wanted because well it was my parents house. A resturant is nice too and less pressure for everyone else.

We are having ours in Jan, but since it'll probably be around 75 ppl we are having out at a place. We haven't booked the place yet though, still looking!!

We had ours at FH's parents house in the backyard with catering, decorations, etc with about 80 ppl. It was in the summer time so it was gorgeous weather and fun.

I Had 2 -lol One for close family and friends - 30 people fh set it up with my sister, right after our weekend of getting engaged! It was at the Millridge Inn and was great!!
Then I planned one with my mother we had 65 people at a VFW hall by my house and the vfw was in an old house from the 1920 so it looked great from the outside and we had a lot of fun my bother just hooked up an Ipod to speakers for music and we had food catered!
