I bought my house several years before I met FH so he's moving in with me (on LI).

It's amazing how many people mentioned that they are or would like to move out of NY. I think its a shame that the ridiculously high prices here are probably the biggest reason for this.

My FI and I are going to closing on our house in Florida next week. We could never afford to live in NY the way we would like to!

Nothing is definite but FH and I say the same thing. We will struggle here for the rest of our lives, down in FL, we will live nicely, the way we always wanted to.

The wedding stresses me, but the thought of renting/buying here on long island gives me ulcers.

We are going to stay in our apt. in Brooklyn for the time being. I am hoping to be actively searching for a house within the year after our wedding. If FH's job continues to progress, we will be probably wind up in Long Island. Westchester or New Jersey are possibilties as well.

Only difference is we are going to live in my apt. after wedding, we don't live together now.
Westchester, not an option.
