Where is everyone saving?

Maybe there are some areas that i'm missing.

Fh and i are saving by..
Not going out to eat as much
Limiting clothes shopping (me..FH doesn't really shop)
Not buying $13 lunches every day (me again.. it ***** working on the upper east side)
Working 7 days a week pretty much (me again lol)
Not going on vaca this summer


umm.. yeah lol

I got a second job to make a little bit more money
Selling AVON a bit more hardcore than I used to
Not going out to eat 5 out of 7 nights a week
Bringing lunch to work everyday
Moved back home
No clothes shopping unless absolutely neccesary

No clothes shopping
Ordering in once a week, not eating out so much
I applied for a second job...witing to hear from them
FH is trying to get a job (laid off a couple of months ago)
Actually doing the coupon clipping thing

living @ home

not buying new clothes

bring lunch to work

FH likes to go out on sat nights but i guess we try to choose cheaper restaurants

i stopped for about a week now (shopping) we went to the outlets on saturday and i didnt buy ANYTHING

i stopped shopping at gourmet supermarkets... esp since fh always tells me beans with hot sauce and a can of coconut water is perfectly fine for me to pack for him. lol

i cut all annual parties(superbowl,halloween,bbqs,bdays,new yrs)

and i try not to cook EVERY night. but i havent been successful. except last nite.. i made him a grilled cheese but i burndeded it cuz of liw

We don't eat out as much (except last night )
I go home to eat lunch
I don't shop as much - and when I do, anything I buy is on sale or I use gift cards
We buy store name generic products instead of brand name
All of our parties are now pot luck and we have our friends bring stuff instead of paying for everything
We spend our weekends playing Rock Band at home instead of going out

ETA: I took on a third Weight Watchers meeting to add in extra hours to my part time job.

Ive tired to bring lunch everyday to work except on Fridays
We try to cook at home or eat off our parents $$ for the weeekends.
We dont go and do things much anymore
Stopped my compuslive shopping

hmmm...
well i have a schedule set up for myself so i am depositing the same amount of money every week and then whenever i have extra i deposit.
i set up 'keep the change' with my bank to save more
i TRY to bring lunch but we're bad with food shopping
i dont shop unless i have to, but im not a big shopper anyway
no vacations this year
no gifts (x-mas, valentines, birthdays etc)

I def do the coupon thing!

we make lunch and bring it everyday.

we eat out/take our maybe once every 2 weeks.

if we do go out for some drinks we go to the bar right in the same developement where we get hooked up really good and we always have a few beers before we go

hmmm.... since we bought a house last year we cut back on things already.

now i bring my lunch
and i shop way more on ebay. lol

I have cut out my shopping by like 90%
no gifts this year for eachother,
no vacations either, (except to maybe visit family out of state)
I got a second job
I don't get permanent french on my nails anymore
don't go out much, dinner or out-out

hmmm we haven't really followed through on any of our plans to cut back spending...

although we aren't taking anymore vacations until the honeymoon so i guess that counts

Ok I'll be the first to say it....we didn't really cut back on stuff. We are not letting this wedding ruin our lives by not enjoying stuff. Granted we are not paying for the whole thing but we do have enough to pay for. The only thing we have done is increase the amount that goes to savings every month.

I give you girls a lot of credit who stopped shopping.....I don't think I could do it.

There really wasn't that much for us to cut out to begin with, we are not big into going out all the time, we are pretty much stay at home type of people.

we only order in once a week
I have money from my check deposited into 'wedding account'

1. Changed my cell phone plan to the cheapest one, since I don't talk that often and plan on changing companies when my contract is up. Saves me about $20 a month.

2. Instead of driving to Queens to take the subway, I have been trying to take the limited bus as often as I can to save gas $$$.

3. Buying only the bare essential groceries. No shopping of any kind. I still have one more gift certificate to use at Macy's will try to stay within the $$ limit on that.

4. We have limited to eating out to one night or two nights in the month.

5. Since, I live at home with mom, I try to get as many free dinners as possible.

Gee.. looks like no one is going shopping. We're all gonna run around naked lol. I guess that wouldn't be saving $ since someone would need to bail me out of jail lol.

Fh haven't stopped living our lives really.. but we only go places where we don't have to pay a lot lol.
Like this weekend.. My cousin gave FH ski's, a snowboard and boots so we didn't have to rent any equiptment and had passes for lift tickets! lol
And some free hotel thing that i got when i donated my car last year.

we are both on the automatic savings plan so the $ gets deposited direct\ly to the saving acct.

no big vacation this summer

not going out to dinner so much (hasnt worked very well)

mooch off mom and dad for dinner and free laundry on the weekends

I dont shop anymore.. ever. My credit card bill every month is down 600 bucks from my average just from doing this. I dont know what the heck I was buying.
No more eating dinner out.
Bring lunch more often. I try to cook a big dinner on the weekend that will last FH and I until Wednesday at least.
Set up direct deposit from my checking out to my ING wedding savings account.
Stopped getting my nails done every week. I miss it.
No vacation plans until the honey moon except visiting FH's uncle and that his parents are paying for our airfare anyway.

now that i just looked that over, that is crazy.

Hardly any clothes shopping except for the clothes I must buy as I loose weight on WW (yay)...but I am coming to work looking like a bum every day basically.

No vacations this year

Very small gifts for bdays, holiday (I would be fine with none but FH still gets me something so I cant NOT get him at least something small)

Not getting nails done regularly or eyebrows at all (plucking instead, ugh)

Just in general putting A LOT more money away every pay check and having very little each week for spending.

Not ordering out for lunch.
