Lake Tahoe. It is so awesome there during the winter. So much fun especially for New Year's.

There's a hotel called the Castle at Tarrytown.
I saved and saved and took FW there Feb 2003. (It wasn't Valentine's Day).

They had a winter special and we stayed 1 nite. It was really pricey but we loved it and it was very romantic.

The next day we reserved our reception hall.

FH and I have gone to the Finger Lakes twice. We love this one B&B that's on the grounds of a winery. Usually we swim in the mornings and hit the wineries in the afternoon (there are a lot of them!). The last time we went we took a dinner cruise on Seneca Lake, and the next night we ate at one of the waterfront restaurants. It's a lot of fun. We always come home with a lot of wine too, of course! :)

I LOVE Ithaca! Everyone should go at least once. We swim in the waterfalls all day (you can in the falls with the water pounding on your back--the most relaxing thing ever). It is so beautiful. Definitely go. And there are all the wineries in the area too.

Lake George - only because we found the most amazing B&B there. It was fantastic. The B&B was the Cornerstone Victorian.

We just had a romantic weekend on the Northfork. It was incredible too, we stayed at a wonderful B&B (it was a wedding gift). We will definately be back, we had a great time. The B&B was the Blue Iris.

It is part of the Castel Grisch winery. It's in Watkins Glen. We stayed there twice- it's lovely and the owners are really accomdating and make great food.

I love New York city in the winter...central park with snow is my favorite! (and where fH proposed )...a nice weekend in the city during the winter, ice skating in central park..hotel room with fireplace....my favorite thing!

eta...i know it isn't quiet...but I love the city, and enjoy the hustle and bustle...and so does fh even though he works there every day! but for a quieter getaway, i would say montauk.
