Where my gym rats at??

Where my gym rats at??

I have a question...

Ok so ive lost weight in the past by doing WW, and I gained 10lbs of it back, so this time I decided to tone while loosing weight. Ive been going to the gym for the past 3 weeks 5x a week doing cardio every day and doing legs 2 days and arms 2 days and only cardio on the 5th day.

Now I know when I lost weight on WW, it was easy to drop a few pounds in the beginning weeks, but this time I am only loosing .2, .4 (you get the idea). Is this normal?? I mean I am not looking for instant results or anything, but I just want to make sure I am doing this right.

Yea it's normal because muscle weighs more than fat so you should be looking for your results in the mirror and in your clothes and not the scale right now.

Muscle weighs more than fat so this is normal. I work out 3-4 times a week. After a while, I take a few weeks off to give my body a rest. During that time, I drop like 3 pounds- because the mucsles aren't being worked. Keep doing what you do- it's better to lose slowly and gain muscle.

Absolutely normal. Usually in the third week you plateau, if you just stay strong it will start to drop again in a week or two. If you want to speed it up, switch machines... (ie. if you run, switch to the eliptical, etc. or take a class!) HTH and Congrats on sticking with it!!

You might not be losing lbs but you are most likely losing inches...do you feel it when you put your clothes on??

yes thats totally normal. you are getting muscle and toning so you wont see dramatic weight loss yet but you will look all firm and tone and then notice the weight come off

That is definitely normal. The one thing that I caution with weight watchers and trying to tone is make sure you are eating enough protein. I always found that protein 'cost' me more in points than carbs so I didnt eat enough. Try to eat 5 meals a day (not huge meals...obv.) but this will help speed up your metabolism and get the weight moving. let me know if you need any help!

Yea that was my concern too which is why I am sorta kinda following WW. I do not add points for working out, but I do not count when I eat my nuts or drink my soy milk bc I feel like it cancels each other out. I do my normal points but I add a snack of protein about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before I work out and sometimes right after I work out.

When I was doing WW and working hard, my body felt weak and I felt dizzy. I feel so much better when I added more protein to my diet.

Protein helps keep you toned & tight & so it happens to be important to eat. Losing weight is great but the inches of the body is what will keep you at your weight best. Which means you are not only gaining muscles mass & losing body fat you are actually changing your entire body. So at first yes it will take sometime to see results on the scale but you should see them in your clothes. Just make sure you are eating enough 5 small meals a day & make sure to stretch!
