I personally think in the Hague...but I know that it will not...I don't think the US should have control over this trial and I have a bad feeling that if it is in Iraq that we will...
i just feel that the US's head is getting a bit swelled and we are completely forgetting about the rest of the world that is/was affected by this mess...
what are your thoughts?

Absolutely in the US! As well as OSama once that spider rat is caught!! There were other people affected by this but we were the ones to rectify the matter. So we should control this. We lost a lot of lives for this and I feel we should have the official say.

I think it should be in the International Courts. They are prepared to handle a trial of this magnitude where Iraq is not. I agree the US should not handle the trial - I think the US needs to take a step back.
I can see Osama in the US...but our soldiers were killed b/c we invaded their country...thats not what this trial is about...
the trial will be about the horrific acts he committed against the Iraqis...

They were happy he was caught so why would they want to kill us and if it was just his soilders who killed us it had nothing to do with the invasion of the land it was to protect a monster who committed horrible acts against all humanity.

Oh Lord...If it must be in the US, it better not be at the U.N. If it is, I'm leaving the city. That would be insane! Too much of a threat...It would just be too big...I don't think they should even SAY where his trials will be held.

I think Hague also. He committed crimes that effected the world not only the US.
peewee...its only the members of the Bath party that have been killing the US soldiers since the end of the war...in a way I don't blame them (don't take this the wrong way) but if the US was invaded...even though I do not like Bush...i would still try to do something to get my country back...yes I know that Hussein was a horrible leader...but not to the members of his party...his supporters...I'm sure his supporters are also worried what the US will do to them...
CIM...the trial wouldn't happen in the NYC UN building...its not equipped...thats just for the general assembly meeting and security council meetings...

International court (Hague).
I don't think Sadaam actually commited a crime against the US per se. He did not, like Osama, lead a terrorist plot to kill 1000's of Americans on American soil.
Sadaam's crimes are crimes against all Iraqi's and all persons of this planet, not just Americans.

No, there's no option for death penalty in int'l court.
The Iraqi Governing council set up a court of justice. If the US truly wants to be the 'liberators', he should be tried there, by his own people.

I think having the trial in the US will open a whole new can of worms.. We don't need that aggravation.. You think this country is unsafe especially since 9/11? imagine all the insane people that will be set off if it's here..

I agree with most of what Erica said, except I think that the trial should be in Iraq. I think the Hague should only be for war crimes that occurred internationally.
No way should it be here. We have no business trying him here.
Osama is a different story, especially since he is a man without a country. No one would claim him.
