As you know I live in Maryland. Born and raised in LI, whole family lives in LI still...
SO anyways, I was thinking, where should I buy my dress? In Maryland or in New York.
If I buy in NY I have the whole NY shopping experience, my mom, my MH, can be there to help me pick it out, and I think I may be able to get a better selection. The issue would be dress fittings... having to come up to NY for the fittings. I have a consultant, but everytime I go up to NY for wedding stuff she will be comming with me so she's not an issue. She can be with me in both locations...
If I buy in MD, it maybe cheaper than shopping in NY and the fittings won't be an issue. But Mom may not be able to be there with me, and what if she is not with me when I find the one if I found it down here!
I know its early but my mind is spinning with thoughts...

New York come on girl you know its the best place in the world to get a wedding dress not to mention you want your family involved!!!!

You actually want to get involved with the NYC shopping experience?!? Are you nuts?!? Crowded, higher prices, more rudeness.... ugh
If I had a choice I would do it in MD! Wait for a day when your mom can come down with you. Make like a whole weekend out of it. I'm sure you will find one. And if you dont, then make a trip to NY
It would def be alot easier on you to not have to travel all that way just for fittings and such!
My best word of advice... Think realistically!!!

you can buy it in NY and have it fitted in MD my sister in law bought hers in Michigan with her mom and had it fitted here in NY

tough choice but i def would want my mom invovled so i say NY!!!!!!!!!
I would say shop in both states .... try it at least once in each state and see what you like ... to get the whole NY expirience and to have your mother and family with you and then look in MD too who knows you might find the perfect dress when you least expect it !! I did, I found mine when I was with my lil sister looking for her prom dress !!!

Did your sis get upset with you for 'stealing her thunder'? When I read this, I just pictured a gurl gettin out of hand b/c the attention was taken off of her and her prom ...
I dunno, maybe thats all in the movies. I am an only child so I never had to contend with anyone else

Since we have so much time I think when you are ready to begin dress shopping you should come to NY and try on dresses you like with your family and if you find one you like see if you can buy it in MD because it is going to be a pain to have to come to NY for every fitting....what if you need 3 fittings!

Shop in both and then see which is cheapier and then you can go ahead and buy that one.

I agree, shop in both MD and NY to compare prices and get the most for your money. Plus you still get to have anyone you want there with you

I would have to say look around in both states so you get a good idea of what you would want. This will also give you a nice variety of dresses! Good luck

I would shop in MD - If your going to get a better price for the dress you would be crazy not to!
I would suggest that you find a few different styles you like and then call your mom and have her come down for a weekend and then go try them on! I defintily think it's a good possibility that you will find the dress you love while your mom being there if you go shopping with a few ideas of what you want.... If not theres no rush plan another weeked trip for mom!

Aww no she was all for it she actually had tears in her eyas when she saw me with the dress on because it was the first time she saw me in a wedding gown!!! And plus I was paying for her dam dress so I can do what I want... just kidding!
