Okay ladies I'm ready to look for my gown. I am so psyched. I just bought a bridesmaid gown for my sister's wedding and I fit into a size 12. No more 24 1/2 for this girl anymore I think I'm going to try on everyone I see. I still have 3 lbs to go to my goal but I may keep on to get an extra buffer so I'll loose an extra 5lbs.

First, congrats on losing the weight!! You sound very happy and I'm glad, you should be proud of yourself!!!!! Yayeeee!!!!
As for where to go dress shopping it depends on where you're located. There's so many places between NYC and LI, narrow it down some and we'll be more than happy to help!!

Congrats on your weight loss!!! Regarding dresses, I'm going to try Centereach Bridals first because it's close to where I live. If that doesn't go well, I'll start trying other places. Did you do a vendor search on LIW?

Congrats on losing the weight!!! I would recommend starting at a place close to home, and branching out from there.
One thing to keep in mind when shopping for a wedding dress, if the tag says it is a size 10, it is really a size 6 or 8 depending on the designer, so don't get discouraged and think to yourself, 'oh my, I lost all this weight and these dresses still don't fit.'

NYC - RK Bridal and Kleinfelds
Nassau - Lillette's (they are very nice), Bridal Reflections (Westbury or Massapequa)

wow-that's big differnce--Congratulations. And yes, don't get discouraged by the sizzes--I was around a 12 or 14 in regular clothes when I got married & my weigdng dress was a 16 ( and it wasn't big at all.)
I got my dress at the Bridal Garden in Bethpage, they were great. I also looke din & would reccomend RK BRidal in Manhattan . They have a huge selection.

I live in Virginia so I don't know of any places on LI for brides but congratulations on the weight loss! That has got to be such a great feeling!
PS: I did speak to some bridal centers when my Mom was looking for her gown and if possible, make sure to go during the weekday because a lot of salons will only let you try on a certain number of gowns on the weekend.
