Where should I go first?

Where should I go first?

I want to make an appointment to try on dresses, but where shoud I start? I have heard positive and negative things about many places (ie: bridal reflections, wedding center in commack). I am just looking for some feedback. I would like my first experience to be positive, if possible.

If you want it to be positive, don't go on the weekends!!! Go after work during the week otherwise it will be a total mob scene and filled with frustration. I went to RK Bridal in the city on a tuesday afternoon and you could roll a bowling ball thru the place and I got to try on 10 dresses instead of the 7 limit they have on weekends. Good luck!

I went to the Bridal Garden in Bethpage ona Saturday ( with appt) & loved it. I got undivided attention and tried on 9 or 10 dresses.

RK was too much for me to handle right off the bat when I didn't know what I was looking for. I went on a Friday, but it was around Christmas & crowded.

Personally, if you want it to be a great experience then take a day from work and just go. Don't go on the weekends and sometimes any time after 7pm on the weekdays can get crowded. I would take a day off and go to a nice amount of stores so the sales people will be able to help you out on a more personal level. I did that and I found it worthwile. GL

I started in a smaller size boutique and it was a great experience. I have been to RK and Kleinfelds and personally did not like the experiences there.
I ended up buying the first dress i tried on : )
at Bridal Accents on Glen Cove Rd. in East Hills.

Do not go on the weekend. I had a horror story at Bridal Reflections in carle place so I will never go back there. I went to Macys Bridal in Manhasset and to Lilettes in Baldwin. They were sooo nice there. I got to try on as many dresses as i wanted. Try it

I agree, smaller boutiques have enough variety of dresses to narrow down what you are looking for if you aren't sure and you get so much more attention there. They make you feel special - even on weekends, beacuse they tend not to overbook like a David's Bridal does.

If you can't find what you are looking for at a couple smaller places, then go to a larger store because you will know what types work on you and you won't be so overwhelmed.

Most importantly, have fun with it!!!
