Re: Where should I go for invitations?

I'm getting my invites from Gail from Simply Elegant. She's a vendor on this board. She is so nice and helpful and I thought her prices were awesome. She's located in Bayside, Queens.

Here's her info

ETA: If you're looking for custom made invites, Laura from LAProductions does amazing work. She's also a vendor on this site. Here's her info
She's located in Long Island.

Oh cool! I know. I live in Aurburndale and she's literally 10 blocks from my house. It was awesome. She works out of her home.

My mom is currently buying a house in College Point. She's on a block that has views of Mahattan. She's can see the Empire State Building from her porch.
What highschool did you go to? I went to Prep. Class of 1996.

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

Wow, there are a few SFP graduates on this board. FH went to Francis Lewis but he was class of 93.

YES, that's it. My mom is so excited. She can't wait to move in. They already signed the contract and now she's doing all the mortgage info. Did you see those new buuldings they're building right behind that block. They must be amazing. I wonder how much they're going for. I think they're condos or townhouses.

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

I heard alot $$$$$$$$ I think I know the house your talking about.. they had open house a few months ago and we went. You know the two big houses across the street on the corner. the apt buildings - brick?

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

Yeah, they had an open house. URA is listing it. The house is small, but it's good enough for her. And it's a 2 family so she can always rent if she wants/needs to in the future. No I'm sure what houses you're talking about. I've only been by there 2x. Are those the houses your FMIL owns? Are they also attached?

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

yup. they are 4 apts in each. I wanted to move there originally cuz i loved the view and the park.. but she didnt have any two bedrooms available so now were waiting :)
Where I am not though at least I have my own garage and backyard.. over there not so much :)

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

Wow how awesome of your FMIL! The views there are amazing and the neighborhood looks great. You can't go wrong. Does she rent them all out or does she live there also?

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

No she rents all of them and then she has another few houses on the block where I live now.. she has her own house in North Flushing.

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

Wow that's great. She's really lucky. I wish everyday that my family would've bought up houses, land, whatever real estate when the market was lower. My friend has a bunch of buildings and houses in Maspeth and she's doing really well with it.

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

wow maspeth thats real $$$.
His family is very smart they saved every penny and bought there houses sooo cheap, and since everyone does construction they fixed them up really nice. If I told you the prices they paid for these houses you would die! No such luck for our generation.. no matter how much we saved.. I mean they were able to pay these houses off within like 8 years!

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

Yeah she bought them a long time ago for dirt cheap and fixed them up. And she's only 30. She bought these buildings when she was around 24 years old. Her family is in the real estate business, she good at that stuff. She actually graduated from SFP also. She was class of 1991 I think.

WOW, 8 years!!!! I WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though im luckier then most with my FIL's owning so much so I have no right to complain. Wow 24 and buying houses already... what a good head on her shoulders!!

Re: Where should I go for invitations?

I know I could only dream FH and I would love to be able to not sell the home we own now and buy another in the future and rent this one. But who knows...the market is just way to insane now

I couldn't believe it when I found out about my friend (I met her in law school, she already owned these buildings and houses). She's been working in the real estate business with her mom, forever. So she got great deals.
