My FH and I really wanted to get married in Montauk, but there are very few venues, and they are very expensive!! We would love to do it on a private residence ideally on the water with a beautiful tent (am i dreaming?!?) Haven't found anything yet... any ideas??
If we can't do Montauk, then we would like to find a venue that is on the water. Does anyone know of any places somewhere in Suffolk county that isn't too expensive?? Thanks!!

the village of shoreham has a hall on sound beach. i think lessings is one of the caterers who can get you in there, but they're not the only ones. the inside is simple, but it's a white building w/ a wrap around deck perched on a bluff over the beach with stairs that go right down to the sand. plus, the view of CT lights at dark is so pretty.

Harbor Club! I had to have my wedding on the water. Venetian Yacht Club is beautiful also.

Have you checked out Gurney's? It's really beautiful and unqiue.
I think the cool part Gurney's is getting married on the right on beach, cocktail hour is on the Lido decks (outside) and the bonfire. I hear ya that being outside for the WHOLE wedding would be amazing, but at Gurney's there is a great deck off the ballroom that people can enjoy the outside.
Our debate was if it rained and we were outside for EVERYTHING, it could really ruin the party. Good luck with your choices!

HamptonsBride got married at the Inn Spot on the Bay in Hampton Bays, which is just beautiful...I would look at her review and also google Inn Spot in Hampton Bays. Her wedding looked just wonderful! And DH and I eat at Inn Spot and the food is delish!

I used to live in MTK and have been to many weddings at the Lighthouse. You can actually have the ceremony outside at the lighthouse or they rebuilt the church finally and it's beautiful. As for the reception I would look into the Old Harbor House which is new, The Yacht Club, Gurneys is pricey but beautiful. The Crows Nest and also the restaurant that used to be Rushmeyers I think it's called Second house now. Good Luck!

Chateau La Mer is on the water, in suffolk and is reasonably priced.
ALOT of girls get married there so their should be TONS of reviews to look at.
Chateau LaMer is beautiful and the food is fantastic. My son and DIL were thinking of having their wedding there until they went to Russo's, but if not for Russo's it would have been at CLM. It is also right on the water and you can have a yacht arrival for you and your FH.
