My FH and I really wanted to get married in Montauk, but there are very few venues, and they are very expensive!! We would love to do it on a private residence ideally on the water with a beautiful tent (am i dreaming?!?) Haven't found anything yet... any ideas??
If we can't do Montauk, then we would like to find a venue that is on the water. Does anyone know of any places somewhere in Suffolk county that isn't too expensive?? Thanks!!

Check them out, im not sure how many people you are having and how much you want to spend but all 3 look nice.

Chateau La Mer is on the water, in suffolk and is reasonably priced.
ALOT of girls get married there so their should be TONS of reviews to look at.

Thatched Cottage is on the water too. Located in Centerport. Prices are really reasonable. I think I remember them saying that guests have unlimited 'seconds' at dinner. He he.

A friend is getting married at Land's End in Sayville. It's on the water and from the pictures online it looks beautiful.

Congratulations new bride! I was going to suggest Chateau La Mer, but just realized we have the same wedding date. Although, there upstairs room might still be open. Are you only limited to Saturday and are you set on the date?

i looked into a tented wedding myself before we even got engaged... and found out very quickly that tents arent cheap!!!! they can cost as much as the RH alone...

how many guests are you expecting? i got married at the old field club. beautiful, on the water (we married on their back deck overlooking the water), private beach nearby for pics (tho we didnt have time to take advantage of that). my wedding was intimate but they can accommodate smaller to avg size weddings. check out their website if youre interested. I had a tent wedding in Hampton Bays...at The Inn Spot on the Bay...not sure if it's in the price range you are looking for...but you can check out my review for more pics and info...HTH!
Im getting married at Chateau le mer in August. It is beautiful. The Venetian Yacht Club has a similar view but has a different layout and decor. Try Lombardis on the Sound in Port Jeff. They are really nice. GREAT food and LOTS of it. They also have a nice beach that you can take pictures next to the place with a rock jetty and what not. Really nice pics! They had no Saturday night dates in the summer of 08 (July or August) Really popular i guess

The Thatched Cottage is the most inexpensive place around. We had our wedding booked there but unfortunately my Brother is getting deployed to Iraq so we had to change venues and postpone the wedding. So here's the kicker- A great date is now up for grabs! July 4th 2008- it's an opening for a day wedding and it's comes with a discounted price!
P.S. The Thatched Cottage has a gorgeous Gazebo for holding your ceremony which is nestled right on the beautiful Northport Harbor. Imagine the warm July sun and swans swimming by in the harbor! As an added bonus- Northport is the cutest most picturesque town to drive through so your guests will enjoy the sights on their way to your wedding. Breathtaking gardens during the summer and the main ballroom has a full wall of windows so you can enjoy the view even from the inside. Haggle with them for $65 pp if you are interested in July 4th- it's a Friday!

venetian yatch club or Lands End!! Depends how far out you want to be in Montauk...maybe somewhere out in the Hamptons?
