for our 3 yr anniversary? poconos, montauk..just something romantic and fun for a day or 2 in the middle of the week, any good suggestions? someplace we can drive too, no money for flying

What about Cape May, you could stay in a B&B, or Rhode Island has nice B&B's too...and during the week you could prob get a good price..

I really like Newport, Rhode Island, but the hotels can be expensive. We styaed int eh next down, in a Motel & drove in & spent the days in Newport walking around.

What about Rhode Island or Cape Cod? It's so nice out there now. There's a little town on the Jersey shore that's cute too, can't remember the name though but if you do a search for Jersey shore inns, it will come up.
I hate the drive out East this time of year, it's sooo long. If you could go mid-week it might not be so bad.
What about Shelter Island?

I stayed there for a weekend in 1987!

We went to Newport RI last summer and stayed at a B&B - the Ivy Lodge. Awesome breakfasts! Really nice place and Newport is great. Price was good too (they run specials - check their website).

We went to Lake George one year and it was great. Very relaxing, great breakfasts and beautiful scenery.

For my b-day we went to Foxwoods...it doesn't exactly sound like the romantic get-a-way type of place but we stayed at this little hotel about 10 minutes away and it was great. We stayed in the presidential suite and it was beautiful! Hot tub, sunken living room, and CLEAN. (The hot tub idea grosse dme out at first but it was so clean) We went to dinner and did a little gambling at the casino but it was nice to go back to a quiet, romantic place! I like the idea of a Bed & Breakfast. They are so cute. Newport Rhode Island is great and has tons!

my FH and I spent this memorial day weekend in mystic connecticut, it was nice, we went to foxwoods and mohegan sun, and walked on the beach, it was romantic. check it out.
