for our 3 yr anniversary? poconos, montauk..just something romantic and fun for a day or 2 in the middle of the week, any good suggestions? someplace we can drive too, no money for flying

Poconos was fun and cheesy but it wasn't cheap. FH and I went there for our 6 month anniversary 2 years ago and had a good time. Although maybe the midweek fares aren't so bad. We stayed at Caesar's Cove Haven.

Ooh, go to the Cape! You can do whale watching and stuff and it's so fun. And because there are so many different towns, there's one for every budget. The drive isn't too bad either - about 3+ (actually, that's from western nassau - not sure where you are). Or try Newport RI, FH and I love going there.

Poconos was fun--we went to Caesar's Poconos Palace--but it was pretty expensive. Montauk was fun and relaxing...Not much to do in bad weather....How about Mystic or Atlantic City? Or Newport, RI?

I have to reiterate about the Poconos. True it was cheesy but we had so much fun. And yes, its very expensive.....
How about a trip to Boston??? DC?

There's a lovely old inn in Sterling PA that we go to whenever we want a romantin getaway... midweek should not be too expensive. The food is FABULOUS!

We went on a weekend trip once to Williamsburg, VA and went to Colonial Wmsbrg and Busch Gardens - a lot of fun

Montauk now that the season has started is expensive too, unless you go during the week. I second Boston...i had sooo much fun there
