Where should we go on our honeymoon??

Hi!! Does anyone have any suggestions where my FI & I should go on our honeymoon? On Saturday we spent the afternoon visiting travel agents. We know that we want to go to the Caribbean, but we're not sure where! We have never been to any of the islands before! They all sound so nice! :) We narrowed it down to 3 choices--either aruba,,,st. thomas/st. martin (5 days at each)...or st. lucia/antigua (5 days at each). Any ideas???!! Thanks!!

I say ARUBA, I am biased though because that is where I am going and I CAN NOT WAIT!

i know how you feel, they all look beautiful and seems like most resorts have the same stuff to offer, not that that is a bad thing but it just makes it harder, did you have any in mind in perticular from meeting with the travel agents?

i personally didnt find the travel agents to be helpful, they basically want you to tell them where you want to go and I dont know...ahhhh!

1) I would definitley suggest aruba if you have never been to the carribean before - you are almost guaranteed great weather, they are right on the equator, the people there are SO nice, not like some other islands - it is not very lush, more desert-ish outside of the resorts, but very cool - and I like that it is safe to venture out of the resorts - the dining is excellent 2) if you want a low pressure travel agent who is extremely helpful try jeff or jami at inclusive travel [email protected] they are great. good luck!

I just went to St. Thomas and St. Martin on a cruise. St. Thomas has a very high crime rate and St. Martin is very poor. While both have beautiful beaches I might pick another location. Also we loved St. John the most -- still pretty poor but mostly a state park and not so touristy.

I heard such wonderful things about Aruba though - many brides here have posted good things about it.

Im biased for St. Lucia. We went there and stayed at Sandals. Now that they have 3 resorts there you can visit them all. Even if you stay at St. lucia, you can take a plane ride over and see Antigua, and stay there a few nights at no charge. You pay at one, and play at all of them. The only thing you have to pay for is that plane ride over.
I say all inclusve!!!

Why don't you look into a cruise to the Southern Caribbean. I think Celebrity and Royal Caribean have cruises that stop in Aruba, St Thomas, St. Kitts, barbados, etc. This way you can see all the islands. That's what we decided on a cruise. We couldn't decide on an island so we are going to 4.

I was thinking maybe a cruise where you can see a few of them..
I have been to Aruba and loved it.I stayed at the radison and would definlity go back again.
I HAVe heard though ( and dont be upset aruba ppl ) that the second most beautiful island, other than hawaii was St. lucia.
I know that it is about triple the price though too..
I dont think you could go wrong either way

St. Martin is absolutely gorgeous, especially if you stay on the French side. Check out the hotel La Samanna (it is an Orient Express Hotel - do a search). It is absolutely breathtaking!!!
St. Barts is also very very beautiful, but very $$$$$$!

I'm with Paiz...crusin' is the way to go...we're off to Puerto Rico, St Thomas, Martinque, Barbados and Aruba!!!!!

I just got back from Aruba and it was incredible. We didn't have to worry about hurricanes or bad weather- it's beautiful all the time. You can check out the post I put up last night. If you go, I wouldn't do an all inclusive because the restaurants are really nice. All of the people are really friendly and the island is very safe. If you're looking for nightlife, it doesn't have a ton of options. You can't beat the beach though.

My best friend went to St. Lucia and said it was beautiful. The only thing she didn't like at the Sandals resort is they do a lot of honeymoon activities- the Newlywed game, etc.. She and her husband just wanted to be alone and not really get involved in activities. I've never been, so this is just what she told me. She said she'd go back though- it's gorgeous there.
