Where to bring out-of-towners on LI?

We have a few friends from Virginia, where we currently live, coming up on the Thursday before the wedding. We want to bring them out for a fun Thursday night on Long Island. Any ideas?

What part of LI will you be on? Nassau, Suffolk, North Shore, South Shore?

fire island beaches are always fun and there are a bunch of fun restaurants out there too...also huntington village in the summer is hopping...restaurants, clubs, bars, the park (heckscher) with summer theater, stores, etc.

Are the bars in Huntington good on a Thursday night... as in do they have DJs?

on a thursday night in summer i would assume at least one of them might...you can always call...i'd check out honu, artful dodger, huntington soical, black latern, finleys (although tends to have live bands and younger crowd sometimes)....otherwise the nutty irishman is usually a good time in farmingdale or bayshore...thursday night parties tend to change every year in terms of who hosts the best party...if you want a bar/club/lounge you may also want to try four food studio, blue in blue point and toku on the miracle mile...if you're wine drinkers and want a nice wine bar novita in garden city i hear is very nice and bin 56 in huntington is good too...

Dunno how far you're going into Suffolk but Miller's in Deer Park is usually a fun night, no matter which night you go... Good Luck!

The View in Oakdale is nice and they have a DJ.
Dublin Deck in Patchogue is always packed, they usually have a band early and a DJ later.

If you can go early take a ferry out of Bayshore n go to Ocean Beach, so many bars, we have so much fun there every year.

I don't know many places in Huntington but I've always had a good time there. Most places that have DJs on a Saturday have one on Thursday for all the college kids.
