Where to buy artwork (originals)

DH and I are looking to purchase a piece of artwork for above our bed. DH wants an original painting of some sort. We were thinking of going to the gallery in port jeff that has thomas kinkade.

Does anyone know of any place we can purchase really beautiful pieces of art, it could be a local long island artist.... as long as we love it, we don't mind spending the money.

Are there galleries on Long Island to purchase from????????????

We purchased a few prints last night from art.com, but they are just prints, DH would like something real.

I know craft fairs sometimes have artists selling their work, be a painting or photographs.

I would try an art auction. Sometimes churchs or schools have them, or a local gallery could refer you to one. They have a huge selection and most times you can get a good deal. They are a lot of fun too!
