where to find a dress!? can't find what i'm looking for!

I'm not having much luck finding a bridal gown and was hoping for some suggestions on where to shop...

I'm looking for a slim a-line/modified a-line/fit and flare/trumpet style in satin/silk or anything in that family with just enough sparkle in bling or beading to feel special but not overdone and just can't find it!!

I'm petite - 5'0 - and hourglass wearing a size 8 currently - hoping to be 4/6 for the wedding. I just can't find stores that are carrying a style that works for my body and meets what I'm looking for. I'm going for an old hollywood glamour sort of feel with a classic formal shape that hugs my figure in the right places but flares out to some extent (high enough for my height but not so high/big in true a-line style) suitable and with enough sparkle suitable for a black tie affair. Budget is flexible but I'd like to keep it below 5k (up to 4k is where I'm most comfortable considering alterations and accessories), although if you know of a designer for more than 5k I'm open, even if only for inspiration.

ANY suggestions on where to shop or designers to look into would be MUCH appreciated!!! I'm getting very stressed and concerned with only 8 months to go!

Dont get stressed out girl. I am about the same size as you. Im 5 foot and have an hourglass figure as well. Why dont you look into Vera Wang or Lazarro.

I bought my Lazarro dress from the Wedding Salaon of Manhasset and absolutly loved them there. They were SOOOOOOO helpful and Very very very nice. It was a great experience and would reccomend then a million times. I spent around what your looking to spend too. Good Luck hope this helps :)

I hear you. I tried on a million mermaids, trumpets, and modified alines before I found one that fit right. I am also short (5'0 too!) it was so hard to find a dress where the bodice dropped to the right point everything was just so long. I have an hour glass figure too and notices that Satin (which I never envisioned wearing) hugged my shape better than other materials. I originally wanted some lace but it just did nothing for me...My dress has a lot of beading it is by Mori Lee, and was wayyyyyy under budget too. I couldn't believe the price actaully lol. Got it at Bridal Elegance in Huntington. Don't give up looking your dress is out there!!!
