Where to get invitations?

Where to get invitations?

Where do I start? Did you buy them on-line or go to a store and look through samples? Any recommendations in NYC or Nassau LI?

Re: Where to get invitations?

Online doesn't do any of them justice - at least imo. I'm big on paperstock - so I wanted to feel paper rather than just look at it.

There are two great places in Huntington - Papier and Lion in the Sun.

I got my invitations from Lion in the Sun in Huntington. Their selection is amazing. It's worth it to go there just to look at the sample books. I was very happy with the service too. However they are very expensive.

I would recommend Fairy Tale Affairs in Massapequa Park (Nassau County) They have a great selection and the girls that work there are very nice!

Start by going to Party City (or the like) so you can browse thru the books on your own to get a feel for what you want/like

Gail @ Simply Elegant. She was so great to work with. She had many, many books of different prices ranges to choose from and she gets 30% off. We had our invites with 2 weeks. She was great!!

Definitely check out Lion in the Sun I got both my STD's and my wedding invitations and calligraphy from them - I give them an A+ they were amazing to work with, they have a fabulous selection - (the largest selection of any of the places I looked at)

Re: Where to get invitations?

I checked out invites online for months before I found ones that WE liked and could afford. I ordered a lot of samples. Then I posted on the vendor board to see who had it and for what price.
I decided to order from Rebecca of Favorite Things Invitations even though it was 5% more then the online price - which I made up in shipping and SERVICE. SHE WAS GREAT. She spent almost 2 hours with me and I already had my invites picked out. We talked about color, font, wording. I would def. recomend her.

I'm a big DIYer and I'm making my own, but were I not, I'd go to Debbie at 'From this Moment' They're on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square above royalty limousines. My sister used her for invites and I got the bridal shower invites there. She was really helpful and friendly and it was an overall great experience.

I ordered online through exclusively weddings
They let me order samples of a few different ones I liked. And they were so inexpensive. Yet everyone commented on how much they like them.

Not really, I already have mine picked out..lol
and I'm not getting married until next year..

I find that since I can't make up my mind about some of the bigger things, ie the reception hall, or my dress.. the smaller things like flowers, and invites helped me feel like I am still getting things done.

Oh and I found them online at Precious Collection, they have some very nice invites at affordable prices. Thier value collections are a great deal, but you have to pay for the liners as an extra because they are not included in the value packages.
