i know its early to look but i am bored at work we want something romantic with peace and quiet on the beach, but some nightlife in town, we want the hotel secluded yet still stuff to do and would like a casino if possible but not a necessity! we are thinking the caribeen that its close. or hawaii how long does it take to go to the fijis fill me in!! i want like a 5 star hotel!!!

You'll probably have better luck checking out the Honeymoon board. I went to Fiji - it took 6 hours to LA, then 12 hours from LA to Fiji, then 90-minutes to the private island. I left Sunday morning and got there Tuesday morning - UGH Good luck!

You just described exactly (almost) what I wanted -- relaxed and romantic, but with a nightlife of some sort.
Aruba solved that solution for me....I looked into some more exotic places like tahiti, but when my TA informed me that there is really nothing to do after 8pm, that turned me off, beautiful as the photos are.
If you want really quiet and secluded, check out the Bucuti Beach Resort. Everyone stays in the Tara Suites. Personally, I wanted a little more action so FH and I will be staying at the Occidental Grand Aruba. But the Bucuti is a popular choice for honeymooners. just make sure you're booked - wherever in aruba you go, if you do - for the 'one cool honeymoon' package. It will get you some freebies, discounts, etc.

I think Cozumel, Mexico sounds perfect for what you are looking for. It is one of our favorite places and we have traveled a lot.

We're going to Crete in Greece. Our Hotel is on the Algean Sea. Each room has it's own pool outside over looking the ocean. Theres great nightlife and resturants and the beach is a 5 minute walk. No casino's though. It's a very small place, and quiet.

hi'ya.. i wanted to go to greece/crete too in the first week of may 2006.. but i heard it's going to be high of mid 60's.. it'sa little cold for me have a great time!
