Re: Where to register??
Macy's was terrible for me anyway! I registered at Linens and Things then Macy's. Turned out I had to get rid of the Macy's one because EVERYTHING was discontinued after a month and NO ONE bothered to let us know.

Re: Where to register??
I had a bad experience at Macy's. The rep. seemed to spend a lot of time discussing their 'incentives' even though I TOLD her I was not registering for China or Crystal glasses. Then, half of the stuff we tried to scan would not come up- some of it because it was going to be discontinued. They did not have enough stock for my liking in pots, housewares or appliances- I finally got aggravated and dragged FH to Fortunoff, so he could see why I wanted to go there in the first place. I ended up cancelling the Macy's registry and doing Fortunoff, Crate & Barrel (b/c I love so much of their stuff) and Target (for just a few things)

Re: Where to register??
My fav. place was BBB..Their return policy is EXCELLENT. If you return something from your list, you get $$$$ back. So it pays off to register for things that you are not sure about. Plus you can find the same things at BBB that you would find at FO and Crate & Barrel for a lot less $$$
I don't like MACY'S. My friend was registered there..the service was TERRIBLE and I couldn't find anything that you could purchase at the store..it all had to be specially ordered.

Re: Where to register??
This was in yesterday's NY Post , interesting story about Macy's and Bloomingdales and bridal registries ************************************ August 10, 2004 -- After battling Wall Street's skullduggery, Eliot Spitzer is now going to bat for brides. The New York Attorney General is cracking down on Macy's and Bloomingdale's parent for an alleged monopoly on bridal registries that inflated wedding gift prices.
Spitzer is expected to announce a settlement today with Federated Department Stores — which owns Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores here and nationally — of antitrust charges involving alleged price-gouging and rigged supplies at the chain's popular bridal registries.
Spitzer's office had no comment on the case.
Federated, based in Cincinnati, didn't return calls for comment.
The retailer is accused of conspiring with several manufacturers of top-of-the-line tableware — including china, crystal and silver — to keep the most coveted bridal gifts exclusively supplied throughout the chain — while shutting out rival retailers from carrying the same products, sources said.
The alleged scheme caused the prices to soar into the 'thousands of dollars' for particular designs and patterns that are highly prized by brides in their bridal registry requests, according to sources familiar with the case.
Retailers generally maintain gift registries for prospective brides, who supply a particular store with a wish list of items they want as wedding gifts.

Re: Where to register??
Fortunoff's was great! FH and I actually had so much fun when we went. Before that we had gone to Macy's and just did not find anything that we wanted, it was depressing and we started fighting about stuff b/c it was so stressful! Plus, I've heard bad things about them too. Fortunoff just had such a huge selection of everything, plus the store is beautiful.

Had the same experience...loved Fortunoff's...and although there aren't many of them...there's always shopping on line!!
I also registered at Bed Bath and Beyond...there are more of them, great selection, and they always give 20% coupons that never expire (they will accept an expired BBB coupon anytime!!!)

Me Too. I registered at Fortunoff and Target (we registered at Macys, but didnt' find anyting we liked there, so canceled it!). But I am thinkgin of going back to BBB to register there, b/c a lot of the same stuff can be found there, and from what i'm hearing, i LOVE their return policy! PLUS- Love their coupons!
Is it OK to register at 3 places??

Re: Where to register??
I registered at three places..I think it's better, so your guests have more to choose from.
Also, at BBB you can use Linen and Things coupons. It's really great!!

Re: Where to register??
I'd def go with Bed Bath and Beyond. I think I might also go to Crate and Barrel for some things. I'm not a fan of Macy's, so I won't be registering there.
